I chose to get admitted to Netaji Subhas Open University (NSOU) for a B.A. (Honors) course because I liked the idea of net-based learning. It gave me the flexibility to study at my own pace, something that worked well with my lifestyle and needs.
I chose Bankura Christian College as my study center because it has a great reputation for its academic excellence, knowledgeable faculty, and supportive environment. Why I chose the Bachelor of Arts (Honours) Program

I chose the four-year Bachelor of Arts (Honours) program because of my deep passion for learning and teaching. From an early age, I was inspired by the dedication and wisdom of my teachers, and I wanted to do the same. Enrolling in the BA (Hons) program has given me a chance to enhance my communication skills and problem-solving skills, which I believe are key to becoming a โ€˜true teacher.โ€™

Discipline, Support, and Growth: My Educational Journey

The open university program demanded the highest degree of discipline and self-control from its students, which pushed me to stay on track and develop a routine. Bankura Christian College played a vital role in supporting me through this unique learning journey. I also tried to make the most of the extracurricular activities that were being organised by the college. They kept me engaged. My grades benefited, and my interpersonal skills and confidence were rationally developed.

Challenges Faced and Strategies I Used to Counter Them

Studying in an open university presented its own challenges. One of the greatest struggles was adapting to the open university model itself. It required real hard work and self-discipline. Unlike regular colleges, there were no daily classroom activities and no peer interactions. It was all on me to manage my studies and time and work on my curriculum all by myself. Compared to full-time college students, I had a more extensive curriculum to study. However, it was easier to handle because of the assistance I got from Bankura Christian College during my studies. The professors there were friendly and always eager to help me out when I needed it.
I used to study regularly in the college library, and I also participated in various workshops, which helped me stay on track and deepen my understanding. It might have been challenging for me to pursue graduation because of my weak financial situation. Fortunately, however, NSOU's fee is reasonable. I am sincerely thankful to NSOU for giving me the chance to follow my aspirations by making higher education accessible to me without putting a significant financial strain on my family.

A Simple Admission, A Transformative Journey

The NSOU admission process was simple and well-constructed. I just had to submit all the necessary documents and fees to secure admission to the course. Choosing NSOU and Bankura Christian College for my graduation was not a difficult decision for me, as the two quite fit with my aim and aspirations for the future.
My journey throughout the course from NSOU via Bankura Christian College has been an enriching experience. The course has not only equipped me with the basic knowledge, but, has also acted as ground preparation for my future. I aim to be a teacher, and the educational journey has so far laid the foundation for me to reach my goal.

Building My Future: Lessons from Bankura Christian College

When I look back on my journey at Bankura Christian College, I see a story of development, learning, and perseverance. I have come to understand the value of self-control, resiliency, and utilizing all of my resources. My commitment to becoming a teacher has been strengthened by this experience.
