St. Joseph's College of Commerce is generally considered to be a Tier 2 college in India. Tier 1 colleges are typically those that are considered premier institutions like the Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs), Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), and other top universities.

Students have to meet the Bangalore University eligibility to get admission in the institute. This includes clearing the selection rounds. However, the basic eligibility is as below:

• Bangalore University UG eligibility - Class 12 with relevant subjects
• Bangalore University PG eligibility - UG degree in relevant field from a recognised university

For admission in a BA programme, the aspirants must fulfil the course-specific eligibility criteria. The candidates who are Class 12 or equivalent pass with at least 50% aggregate in any stream from a recognised board can apply.
