Is a degree compulsory to become a video editor?

Video Editing is a technical field for which candidates should have knowledge of various video editing tools and software. Hence, without a formal education in video editing, one cannot make a successful career. Many colleges which admit students to editing courses offer less number of seats and candidates must appear in the entrance examination in order to be eligible for the course. Moreover, candidates must have studied Visual Communications or Film Studies or Film Making at the undergraduate level in order to be eligible for Master's courses.
