IBPS CWE Clerical Entrance Examination 2011
The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) will be conducting a Common Written Examination (CWE) for the recruitment of Clerks in 19 Public Sector Banks on 27 November 2011. IBPS CWE Clerical Examination has been approved by all the 19 banks and the Managing Committee of the Indian Banks' Association (IBA) with the consent of Govt. of India. Any candidate who wishes to apply for clerical cadre in any of the 19 Public Sector Banks must give this examination. This exam is specifically designed for students who wish to make their career in the banking sector. 
Every candidate who clears IBPS CWE Clerical Examination and meets the criteria will be issued with a score card. When any bank amongst those 19 PSU banks have an opening with a separate notification and eligibility criterion, the candidate can apply for the following with the scorecard. Since this examination is based on the availability of vacancy in one State/UT, the candidate must appear for the examination from one centre only.

Details of the Examination:
The total duration of the IBPS CWE Clerical Examination is 150 minutes. This exam comprises of 250 questions.
This test has been divided into 5 parts -
- Reasoning Ability
- English Language
- Numerical Ability
- General Awareness with special reference to Banking Industry
- Computer Knowledge
Each part has been given an equal weight age of 50 marks. This examination allows negative marking where each wrong answer will deduct a total of 0.25 marks. If the candidate gives more than one answer the candidate will be subjected to negative marking.
Eligibility Criteria:
Candidates who are interested in giving IBPS CWE Clerical Examination must fulfill the following conditions:
- The candidate must have passed with 60% marks in the aggregate in Matriculation/SSC (old pattern)/SSLC/10th std. Examination of 10+2+3 pattern or equivalent. For SC/ST/OBC/PWD/EXSM candidates a pass in the aggregate in Matriculation/SSC (old pattern)/SSLC/10th std. Examination of 10+2+3 pattern or equivalent
OR
A pass with 50% marks in HSC examination of 10+2 (10+2+3 pattern) /11th Std. of (11+1+3) pattern or Intermediate/Pre-University or any equivalent examination/Diploma in Banking recognized by Central/State Government or U.T. administration. For SC/ST/OBC/PWD/EXSM candidates a pass in HSC examination of 10+2 (10+2+3 pattern) /11th Std. of (11+1+3) pattern or Intermediate/Pre-University or any equivalent examination / Diploma in Banking recognized by Central/State Government or U.T.administration.
OR
Degree in any discipline from a recognized University or any equivalent qualification recognized as such by the Central Government. - A candidate must be either a Citizen of India or a subject of Nepal or a subject of Bhutan or a Tibetan Refugee who came over to India before 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India or a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India, provided that a candidate belonging to categories (ii), (iii), (iv) & (v) above shall be a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India.
- The age limit for general category as on 01.08.2011 must be at least 18 Years and maximum age of 28 Years.
