IITM gave me many opportunities to develop my personality: Himanshu Gupta

After completion of school life, where you get all the things on your table, it was time to face the real life where you have to make efforts to achieve things.

That means now it's time to take a step forward towards a life in which you meet fake people and best people. At this stage your actual voyage of life starts.

So, after completing class XII, I filled two forms of different courses, B Com and BBA in the same university, Indraprastha Institute of Technology and Management (IITM), Janakpuri. But I appeared for BBA entrance exam only because for B Com entrance exam, I reached the exam hall late. Two weeks after the results were declared, I got admission in IITM.

After taking the admission in the college I was eagerly waiting for classes to begin. August 22 was the day for me. It was my first day at college. On the first day, I felt that it will be tough to survive in college because I was missing my school friends and the ambience I had lived in for eight years. Gradually, I made friends in college.

I have got the best faculty that always encourages and supports me and also help me identify my area of interest and polish my skills. And if you commit any mistake the teachers are there to correct it and help you in every possible way. All the faculty members are very familiar with the students and they all treat us like their own children. They are ready to solve our problems anytime we approach them.

Apart from studying BBA at IITM, I perform my duties as a CR that help me in preparing for the future better. I have been chosen as a CR of the class and this role helps me to develop various skills including social skills, decision making ability and aptitude skills. By performing the role of a CR, I found out my weak areas which I overcame with the help of my mentors. My mentors always guide me to make better decisions.

Till now I have participated in various events held in our college like cultural day, annual day, sports day, debate competition which gave me the opportunity to show my talent and skills. Anchoring some events helped me in enhancing my communication skills and develop my personality further.

Our college management is always ready to give time and attention to the students. They respect our suggestions which is the best thing about our institute.

We have also gained knowledge by visiting companies like Yakult and Parle-G which was a great experience for us.

Last month our college organized an event called INTERNHUNT. It was is a kind of job fair in which lots of companies visited our campus and gave us the chance to appear for interviews. I got selected for internship with The Times of India which was again a great experience.
