CBSE school teachers want all students to bring with them their negative RT-PCR report after the schools reopen for practical exams as they many asymptomatic students also attended schools and spread infection.
CBSE school teachers demand that all students must be tested for COVID19 and should carry their negative RT-PCR once the schools reopen for the practical examinations. The CBSE practicals had started on May 1 for CBSE Class 12th students. However, they were brought to a halt and all schools were told to shut due to rising COVID cases across the country. Teachers suspect that many asymptomatic students had attended school.
A CBSE school teacher told media that some students appeared for their practicals even though they were positive. But since we got the information at a later date, we realized we were helpless. βWe have been telling our principals to make RT-PCR mandatory for all but they are more focussed on getting the practical exam over and done with. Now, these practical exams have been put on hold and I hope that the school management takes it seriously,β she said.
Earlier, CBSE had advised parents to take an educated view and inform the school authorities in case their child is positive. βThe board will not let any child suffer academically due to coronavirus. A second chance will be given, so no need to panic,β Sanyam Bhardwaj, Controller of Examination, CBSE had said.
Teachers feel that thereβs no guarantee that people will tell the truth and thus demand negative RT-PCR reports by all students and teachers before the schools restart.
