The National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) is accepting applications for NIOS admission 2025-26 Block 1 for classes 10, 12. The Council has opened the NIOS 10th, 12th exam registration window for April/May 2026 exams. Students can register themselves for March-April 2026 exams with a late fee of Rs 510 till August 31, 2025. Thereafter, the NIOS admissions can be done between September 1 and 15, 2025 with a late fee of Rs 910. Students can register for NIOS admission 2025-26 in online mode on the official website - nios.ac.in by filling the NIOS admission form. Candidates have to pay the requisite NIOS admission 2025-26 fee and upload the required documents, through NIOS login, to complete the NIOS admission 2025-26.

NIOS 10th, 12th admission 2025-26 window for Mar-Apr exams 2026 was opened from March 16 to July 15, 2025, without any late fee. From August 1 to 15, 2025, a late fee of Rs 260 was charged. 

Candidates who have cleared class 8th and have reached 14 years of age can apply for NIOS 10th admission 2025-26. Those who passed class 10 can apply for NIOS 12th admission 2025-26.

Eligibility for NIOS 2025-26 Admission 

Those who meet the NIOS eligibility criteria can apply for NIOS 2025-26 admission. Given below are the eligibility requirements that must be fulfilled by students in order to apply online for NIOS admission 2025-26.

Age Criteria for NIOS Admission 2025-26

The minimum age required for NIOS registration 2025-26 for Class 10 is 14 years as on July 31, whereas a student should be at least 15 years old to apply for NIOS 12th admission 2025-26.

Educational Qualification

NIOS 10^th admission: Students must have cleared class 8 from a recognized board of education or must possess enough knowledge to sit for the class 10 exam I.e, a candidate has to give a self-certificate stating that they have studied enough to be eligible for NIOS 10th registration 2025-26.

NIOS 12^th admission: Students must have cleared class 10 from a recognized board to be eligible for NIOS class 12 registration 2025-26. Students who apply immediately after passing Class 10 will not be allowed to sit for the exams for all the subjects in one attempt.

Students who wish to apply for NIOS 10^th, 12^th admission 2025-26 must know that the last date to apply for NIOS Board online admission without any late fine was July 31, 2025 and till August 15, 2025 with a late fee of Rs 260. However, they can apply for NIOS admission 2025-26 till August 31, 2025 with a late fine of Rs 520, and can apply between September 1 to 15 with a late fine of Rs 910. How to apply for NIOS Admission 2025-26?

Students can follow the steps below to register for NIOS 10^th, 12^th admission 2025-26. It should be noted that the NIOS registration can be done online only.

• Visit the official website at nios.ac.in
• Click on the Admission tab on the left and then on Academic from the scroll-down options
• Then select Stream I (April/May 2026) to apply for admission to Stream 1 Block I -2026
• The online application form will open on the screen
• Fill in the state, identity type, identity number and the course you are eligible for accurately

• Submit details
• Now, a window asking for the candidate’s basic details will open as shared below
• Verify the mobile number and email ID and submit details
• Next, a candidate can select the subjects for which they want to appear and also choose the exam centre
• Now, upload the scanned/soft copy of the documents and submit
• Check the form carefully for its accuracy before the final submission
• Make the payment and now the student has applied for the NIOS admission
• They can track their NIOS admission status online

NIOS admission 2025-26: List of documents required

Students applying for NIOS 2025-26 admission have to upload scanned copies of their academic documents and ID proof. The list of documents required for NIOS online admission 2025-26 are listed below:

• Aadhaar card or passport or ration card or other identity proof
• Birth certificate for proof of date of birth
• Address proof i.e. Aadhaar card/water bill/electricity bill/voter ID/ration card
• Signature (preferably in black ink)
• Recent passport size colour photograph
• Class 8th marksheet for students applying for the secondary course or NIOS class 10
• Class 10th marksheet for students applying for the senior secondary course or NIOS class 12
• Disability certificate for PwD candidates
• Caste certificate for SC/ST/OBC candidates
• Ex-serviceman certificate for candidates applying under the Ex-serviceman category

NIOS Admission Fees 2025-26

A student needs to pay the admission fee to complete his/her NIOS registration. The fees will have to be deposited online through netbanking/debit card or credit card.  The NIOS 10^th, 12^th admission fees for different category of students is given below:

* In addition to the above, Rs. 70/- will be paid for every online transactions.

Note: The admission fee does not include the examination fees. The examination fee must be paid separately within the specified dates, if the learner wishes to appear in examination

NIOS Admission Status 2025-26

Candidates should start preparation for the exams after completing the online NIOS form. They have to go through NIOS syllabus 2025-26 and prepare well accordingly. They must keep an eye on their NIOS 2025-26 admission status using the login window.

What After Getting NIOS Admission 2025-26?

• After the confirmation of the NIOS 2025-26 admission, the enrollment number is sent to student on the registered mobile number and Email ID.
• NIOS ID card download is to be done through NIOS students' portal.
• Once NIOS admission is confirmed, candidates have to pay NIOS exam fees to submit the examination form for April 2026 exams.
