B.Tech. in Civil Engineering - Batch of 2028

Great value with strong placement and vibrant campus life.
Placements: Civil engineering saw a relatively lower enrolment, approximately 15-25 students in each batch compared to other courses. Placement have been 95% from the college and 100% last year average package would be around 3.5 LPA, the highest was 12 LPA, and the lowest was 2 LPA.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college is attractive and comfortable and all the equipment and labs required are available. The food may not be so good same food for the next 4 years will be hard. Hospital and medical facilities are not compromised. Sports are supported in this college. Swimming pool and other indoor activities are all available.
Faculty: Teachers are supportive as in every college teachers are highly qualified and experienced. Most of the teaching staff are Ph.D. holders and have a great way of teaching. Exams are conducted according to the curriculum of VTU and regular class test are conducted after completion of each module. According to teaching the exam don't feel difficult but it depends on the way you read and understand 86% is pass percentage.
Other: With fewer fees, teachers and facilities of the college are value for money. There is a downside in that the rules are followed very strictly there are fests and other events like Virasat which is the most hyped event, great musicians and singers come to perform during this event. Many clubs are there in the college in which a student is interested. There are clubs for enjoyment and there are clubs for improvement.

The infrastructure is good. Faculty members are good and strict in internal and external exams.
Placements: On our campus, 80-90% of the students got placed in my course. The highest package is 11 LPA. The average package ranges from 5-7 LPA. The lowest salary package ranges from 3.5-4 LPA. MNCs visited our campus to hire students from my course. Companies like Accenture, Infosys, TCS, IBM, Tech Mahindra, EY, Quality Kiosk, SYX(Mumbai), 99Games, and Signdesk visit the college to hire students. 70-80% of students got internship opportunities from our campus and full-time jobs in companies like IBM, Signdesk, Bosch, Toyota, etc. Roles like consultant service, associate software engineer, full-stack developed, web developed, and lab intern are offered to students.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is good in our class and labs. Classrooms have smart boards. Labs have highly configured Windows and Linux operation system PCs. Instructors are also available. Wi-Fi has a high-band connection. The library is good for reading and group discussions. Separately discussion hub is provided by the library which is collaboratively discussed inside it. The digital library is also provided with Apple systems. In the hostel, the food and infrastructure are good. Specific timings are available for the food. The food is hygienic and clean. The good court is there on the campus itself.
Faculty: Teachers are experienced and professional in their field to teach us thoroughly. Expert faculty members are also there here. Training is provided by industry experts and mentors to make us job-ready and give interviews for companies. Exams depend upon the university, and in our college, it was VTU, so now it is an autonomous university. It is good and moderate to study and come up with a good CGPA for job cutoff eligibility. The pass percentage is 40%, and they can achieve it if they maintain consistency while preparing for jobs in their academics.
Other: I am a computer science student in my final year. The best thing about my course is it is flexible in time and the college location is flexible. All the work in the course is related to computers and techniques. Non-technical fest and events are low here. Technical events are more to nurture the student's caliber and technical make them strong. It also conducts food festivals and annual gatherings. Sports events are also held yearly. Scholarships like NSP and SSP are available, and if students are eligible they can apply for both of them.

Placements are very bad. I wish they will get better in future days.
Placements: As a second-year student, I haven't seen any placements on my campus. They don't even call many companies to our branch. I have no idea about the other branches, but they are trying to improve the placement scenario. So far, I have not seen any of my seniors placed.
Infrastructure: There are many good faculty members, and we also have many lab facilities and forums in my college, like "Edwin's Lab," "VLSI Lab," and many more labs of that kind. As a hostel student, the fee is about 45k for a room shared with three people. It's good for the cost, and our college also gives more importance to cultural events.
Faculty: Faculty members are good, but we should also do more self-study. They conduct three internals but take the best of two. They also offer many courses and provide certificates for them. Also, from this year, that is, from the 2024 batch onwards, Alvas is an autonomous college, but the 2023 batch is under VTU.
Other: I was planning for CSE but didn't get it, so I got into ECE, but so far, my personal thought is if you are not into studying all the time, then please don't take ECE because it is way too tough. They don't provide any scholarships from the college, but we get SSP.

There is good education in this college, and they also offer good placements.
Placements: The college claims 100% placement, and they have made a separate cell for placements. It includes B.Tech and MBA placements. There are many placement cells in our college, like Infosys, and many more, and there is also a research lab for interested students.
Infrastructure: The college is good to see and has good ventilation. Our college is among greenery, and it is also recognized as a green building. You can see the plants and the maintenance of them. The classrooms have projectors for a better explanation of the topics. There is also Wi-Fi available which can be accessed by our registration number.
Faculty: Faculty members are supportive according to your behavior with them. Also, in the curriculum, our college follows the VTU syllabus. When they put the circular on the website, the college circular department informs us with the permission of the principal and management.
Other: Our branch is a new branch that started, I think, 2-3 years ago. Okay, the branch is good.

Overall, the college is not good. If anybody wants to take admission, please don't.
Placements: Around 80% of students were placed. The minimum package is around 2 LPA, and the highest package is around 24 LPA. Top recruiting companies are Samsung, Intel, Alstom, Corporate, Crompton, Wipro, etc. Around 40% of students got internships from our course at Wipro, Apple, and many other companies.
Infrastructure: Labs are good, but the Wi-Fi is very slow. Classrooms are average, and the library is good enough. Food quality is not good; they don't provide non-vegetarian or vegetarian food in proper quantities. Medical facilities are not good. Sports and games facilities are really very good. Mess food is the worst.
Faculty: Teaching quality is good. Our teachers act like if we go for any extracurricular activities, they will support you from the front, but afterward, they won't be supportive. The HOD of our branch is the worst; he uses bad words in front of everyone. He doesn't care about boys or girls; he scolds them bad.

Placement is good, overall.
Placements: 50% of students got placed till now and the lowest package is 3.5 LPA and the highest is 10 LPA. Most of the roles are about sales, sales interns, assistant managers, and sales managers. Nearly 20% of students got internships and good passing percentage of selection in internships but no money was paid.
Infrastructure: Food is average and can survive but very expensive. Wi-Fi is the worst and there is no network. Facilities in the college are not at all good and no system is there for the overlap of time and no permission for outing.
Faculty: Faculty s are good but some of them are average and some of them have experience but we can't understand. Some teachers are not at all helpful and some are very good and very helpful and very motivated. Exams are all good. Passing percentage is 99%, and most of them pass. Overall good experience but sometimes feels depressed over the teacher's mental torture and overall good.
Other: There are many events but no support and less motivation as we are management students but if they support they will not motivate like they will force us to give exams even if we were out for activities.

Most of the companies start the placement process with a pre-placement talk that describes the job profile, the company's vision and the services provided by them. Students are advised to attend the PPT for the desired company as it is the base step of preparation for that particular company. Therea
