Karnataka PGCET Rank Allotment Process

Since the PGCET admissions is based on the rank secured by the candidate, test-taker's often worry about how Karnataka PGCET rank is allotted. For allotment of rank, KEA will first calculate the PGCET marks of all candidates. Karnataka PGCET score can be calculated based on the marking scheme.

Karnataka PGCET Marking Scheme

Score of the PGCET test takers are evaluated based on the following marking scheme:

  • Each correct response by the candidate will fetch (+) 1 mark.
  • No negative marking prevails for incorrect responses.
  • No negative marking prevails for unattempted questions.

Formula to Calculate Karnataka PGCET Score

Karnataka PGCET Probable Score = Number of Correct Responses X 1

How is Karnataka PGCET Rank Allotted?

KEA assigns a Karnataka PGCET rank based on the marks secured by the candidate in the exam. Candidates securing highest marks get rank #1 in the PGCET exam. The candidate with the second-best score will get rank 2 in the Karnataka PGCET exam.

Karnataka PGCET Tie-Breaking Criteria

There can be cases when two or more candidates get an equal score in the Karnataka PGCET exam. KEA will follow the steps below to allocate ranks to such a candidate:

  1. Better rank is allocated to a candidate who has better total aggregate marks in the qualifying exam.
  2. In the case the marks obtained in the qualifying exam are equal, the rank is determined based on the age of the candidate. Older candidates are preferred over younger ones.

NOTE: The decision power in allotment of Karnataka PGCET rank resides with KEA. Candidates must not request any clarification on the rank allotment process. Decision of KEA will be final while preparing Karnataka PGCET inter-se-merit.
