Amrita School of Arts, Humanities and Commerce, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Coimbatore Scholarships and Funding

University provides Student Financial Aid and Scholarships:

Scholarship Criteria:

Merit:
This will always play an important role in scholarship decisions. Top students in any of the schools will be eligible for scholarship consideration although the exact scholarship amount and numbers may depend on the academic school or department. Students will need to provide proof of academic and scholarly accomplishments to be eligible for the scholarship. The percentile of students receiving the scholarship will depend upon the school and area of specialization.

Socially Backward Communities:
The University is committed to affirmative action for such backward groups as, OBC, SC/ST, and other such groups approved by the Government of India. A certain percentage of such groups will always receive scholarships each year.

Special Disadvantaged Groups:
These groups include women, those with disabilities, etc. These groups will not be treated with any discrimination and will be afforded an equal opportunity to scholarship opportunities.

Scholarship Schemes:
University has put in place several scholarship schemes including tuition/fee waiver (partial or full), stipends to cover living expenses and/or health benefits expenses, etc. The amounts depend on the scheme, the academic program, location, etc

Scholarship Application Process:
The students should contact the departmental office and submit an application in the appropriate form. The department will provide the list of scholarship schemes available. The student is responsible for submitting all suitable documentation based on the scheme. Such documentation includes proof of merit, recommendation letters for merit scholarships, Government approved proofs for members of Backward communities and any other necessary documentation for special disadvantaged groups.

Really good facilites there.

Placements: You won't be getting any placement after your B.A. programme. The three year programme includes American literature, History of English literature, prose, drama, phonetics, Indian literature and different types of electives like teaching, translation, etc.

If you are a non-vegetarian, food will be an issue. It has amazing faculty and a beautiful campus.

Placements: About 90% of the students got placements from our course, but most of them opted for higher studies like a PhD in foreign universities later. The average salary offered is around Rs. 30,000 per month. Academically top 1% of students got salary packages of around 20 LPA. Companies like Wipro, Infosys and Google are some of the top recruiters here.

Overall Amrita is a decent college with little drawbacks.

Placements: Placements in our college are pretty bad. More than 60% of students get offer letter during the internship time. It is easy for other departments to attract companies. Being a small department college, it shows less concern regarding placement. Companies which visit for placements are mostly for IT, which is very disappointing.

I am absolutely satisfied with my college experience.

Placements: The placement sessions are not really attractive here. Companies like Amazon, Mckinsey and other print and broadcast firms conduct placements yearly. Based on individual performance, students are selected directly to join the company or are qualified for limited-time programmes. Every student is provided with an additional internship facility in their field of interest after completing the second year of the course. The field of interest and the company can be of our choice, but the faculty inch...

Revies of Amrita School of Communication - Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham University.

Placements: Amrita mass communication offer placements in 2 firms this time. But I didn't attend for any of those. Students who wanted to pursue masters it was fine. But for others, it proved to be difficult as without placements it's nearly impossible to get jobs anywhere. Placements are a necessity.

Review of Amrita School of Communication - Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham University.

Placements: Internships are mandatory for B.A. students at the end of their 2nd year. Preferably in a print or AD agency. So through that, students get an opportunity to work for some prestigious organisations like The Hindu, Times of India and some AD agencies like FCB Ulca.
