Q:   Is Bangalore Institute of Management Studies good for MBA?
    A:

The answer depends on you. It could be yes or no. BIMS is a good option for MBAs with respect to fee and placement. Otherwise, focus on taking admission to an institute like IIM, IIT, or MBA from abroad, like the US or Germany. Believe it or not, in today's generation, brand matters more than what you have learned. The reviews suggest that the college has a decent faculty and infrastructure, but the placement opportunities are average.

Review of Bangalore Institute of Management Studies.
Placements: Placements happened for 2014-2016 MBA batch. It was because management got shifted. Management handed over the ownership to other management, and that created a messy situation.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college was on par, and there is nothing exaggerated. The college campus is not that big, and it is a standalone building nothing to show off. However, it has a well-equipped library which has all the books to get study support from and also an advanced IT lab.
Faculty: Faculty members are the only good part of our college, though there was unfair favouritism. But most of the faculty members were very helpful and knowledgeable. Beyond due schedule for periods, often we used to meet them at the faculty room to solve our confusions. All of us have a very good relationship with all the faculty members. Especially at our time principal Dr Nijaguna and Dr Dinakar mentored us well.

The college is good at teaching and placement.
Placements: Well, the placements are conducted by the college, which is helpful for students as they get placed in any company. The placement coordinator trains you to get placed in any company before the placement. More than 30 companies participate in the placement like Infosys, LIC, Accenture, etc.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is good in our college. The topics are comfortable to learn. The facilities like library, Wi-Fi, sports, and games will be conducted in the college. There is language lab in the college. The library is well-facilitated one.
Faculty: The faculty members are friendly, qualified and knowledgeable in our college. The teaching quality is good. Presentations are using for explaining the topics. The student to faculty ratio is 10:1.
Other: Every year, there will be fresher's day and cultural programmes. The scholarship is provided in the college.

    I am satisfied with everything.
Placements: Around 50% of students got internships and some have issues in applying and some haven't applied but everyone is getting equal opportunities. There are 2 months of summer internships and 9 months of internships that are unpaid. The salary package is based on the company. Top roles offered are HR, finance, marketing, sales, digital marketing, etc.
Infrastructure: Everything is available. There is no canteen but has shops for lunch, snacks, tea, pizza, coconut water, fruits, etc., near the gate. During the break, students can go out to have food.
Faculty: Faculty members are well qualified. I would rate them 5 stars. The course curriculum makes students industry-ready and it benefited students in many ways. We are being trained from the starting about the industry which makes us understand the corporate world. Exams are not hard.
Other: I chose this course because by completing MBA there is an assurance to get a better job role in any domain if we have skills. Students need to be regular to class for group activities.
