It is a great option for you if you are an average student with no option for alternate college.

Placements: There were only 9 students in our batch. Because of lack of knowledge about statistics subject, approximately 10% of the students got placed. None of the recruiting companies were invited, due to the standard of the course because most of the jobs in statistics were available after P.HD. In statistics, you can be appointed as a professor in teaching, or be a statistician for data science in the private sector. You can also go for internships in companies like Amazon, Wipro, and other marketing, and finance companies.

Infrastructure: We had a common library, two classrooms available, and a lab with no Wi-Fi. Hostel and mess facilities were not available. But we had a canteen, medical, sports and games facility. You can have a good experience here.

Faculty: If you want to go for a booming sector that is data science, then you must have to go through statistics. If you are from Bareilly there are great opportunities for you in this department. There were very inspiring and supportive faculty members especially our Head of Department. But here you may miss practical skills such as Python, and real-life projects.

Harsh reality of Bareilly College.

Placements: Actually, there aren't any placements in the Bachelor of Science course. If anyone says there are, they are lying. I personally went to Bareilly College because I had no other option, as it was the Covid-19 times, so I had to take up admission somewhere where there was no attendance criteria. Even if you only appear during exams, no one will ask you a thing, and you'll be able to pass easily. There are no internships, nothing.

Infrastructure: What can I say about infrastructure? It’s a very old college, and there hasn’t been anything done to keep the infrastructure up to date. The classrooms are very old-fashioned and unclean. Some classes don’t even have working fans. The labs have all old equipment, most of which doesn’t even work. No mess or canteen. Sports and games you can play, definitely. There’s a big ground as well, but the funny thing is, you’ll have to bring your own equipment to play.

Faculty: There are only 4-5 teachers who will solve your doubts and help you with your problems. The others are there just for time pass. They don’t do anything, don’t take classes, don’t appear for practicals, nothing. If you want a degree just in name, you can go there, but if you really want to study for your degree, go somewhere else. Here, you can pass the exams if you just study the last 3-4 years' question papers. Laughably, that’s the difficulty level of the exams.

Other: I chose this course because I had nothing better to do and had no idea that Bareilly College was this bad. I wish I hadn’t taken admission there. There are no events, no extracurriculars, nothing. Basically, if you want to get a degree without doing anything, then Bareilly College is for you. It has a very decent fee structure. You won’t feel financially burdened, but you will be sacrificing your studies and future in the long run. Choose wisely.
