MBBS - Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery - Batch of 2026
4.2
Satisfactory college and campus with great opportunity for learning and facing the course.
Placements: Many graduates choose to do a postgraduation. Others opt for jobs in many different hospitals as a duty doctor with a minimum pay of INR 50,000. Graduates get a INR 30,000 stipend during their internship and great exposure to patients at the civil hospital in Belagavi. This is a great opportunity to learn clinical skills.
Infrastructure: The college infrastructure is really good. Classrooms are spacious and well-equipped with teaching tools and a digital board. Laboratories are well-maintained, although some equipment is outdated. Hostels are well-maintained, but the food quality in the mess and canteen is not up to the mark. There is no Wi-Fi in the hostel. Sports equipment is available, but there is no proper ground for playing sports.
Faculty: The teachers at this college were well qualified and taught well. The basic subjects like Anatomy, Physiology, and Biochemistry were dealt with really well. Dissection was taught very well, and students were given the opportunity for self-learning. The semester exams were based on the university pattern and were moderate to difficult in nature. The pass percentage was 50%.
Other: I chose MBBS because I wanted to be a doctor. The best thing about my course is patient satisfaction. I would like the campus to be a little bigger and have more fests and extracurricular activities.

One of best Medical colleges in Karnataka.
Placements: After completing an MBBS degree, most students give the NEET PG exam. One of our seniors got AIR 9 in NEET PG. The NEET PG exam decides your career, as it mainly determines which branch and college you will get. Some become medical officers. Some do their MD in non-clinical subjects and become professors. Some prepare for the USMLE exam to complete their post-graduation in the USA. Some choose a career in clinical research, while others prepare for UPSC. Being a doctor is a long journey, and you get many opportunities.
Infrastructure: It is a government medical college. All basic infrastructure is present, as it should be in a medical college. As it is a government medical college, infrastructure and facilities are less compared to a private college. The hospital has a very good patient load, and you can see a variety of patients, which helps you develop very good practice. In the girls' hostel, there is an attached bathroom to each room, with two students allotted per room. The room is big enough for two students. Our mess food is good compared to other hostels' mess food. The student committee manages the mess.
Faculty: The anatomy department faculty is the best in the college. The physiology department is friendly. The biochemistry department is the worst, as is the case in most colleges. The first internal exam of the first year is difficult for most students, as many fail. At the end, hardly 1-2 students fail. Getting distinction in your professional exam is not a big deal if you read regularly. The main exam is NEET PG, which decides your career.
Other: I chose the MBBS course as I was interested in medical research. The best thing about MBBS is that you can treat people and solve serious problems, and it's just interesting to learn about the human body and how we can treat it. Ganapati is the main cultural event of our college, mostly organized by third-year students. Few events are organized in our college.

Affordable education, good infrastructure, but less sports time .
Placements: Our college provides internships to all students with up to 25 to 30000 per month, and the course is 4.5 years, which requires a lot of study. After completing their degree, they can do their postgraduate work in any department they want. Our college provides the best education for those who want to study.
Infrastructure: Our college has good classrooms with digital boards and teaching available. Library facilities are also present in our college, with 24 hours open all days of the week. Our college brand is smaller compared to other colleges, and there are good hostels and mess facilities in our college.
Faculty: Faculty in our college are really good, and we have all faculty members in all departments with good knowledge. In our college, three months of exams are conducted strictly, and no copies are allowed in our college. And the weave of faculty, the teaching, and the subjects are really nice.

Nice campus with better results and outstanding in academics.
Placements: A total of 150 students are in our batch. The highest package, like an internship, will be 30,000 rupees per month for 1 year in our hospital. All who have passed the 4th year examination will be given a license to do an internship. In our internship, they will teach us how to treat patients and handle them with care.
Infrastructure: Our college has good infrastructure, like a library of three types (AC and non-AC) and a common study hall. Our library is open 24 hours a day, and our classrooms have big screens for teaching. Our college provides a good hostel facility; per 3 members, a single room is allotted with an attached bathroom and good electricity. Our hostel mess food is very good and tasty and they will give us fruits every day. We also have outdoor activities like football and volleyball.
Faculty: Our teachers are highly qualified, with more than 10 years of experience in teaching. Teachers will help with every problem, be it studying or anything else. They complete an MBBS with an MD in their respective subjects. Yes, this course is relevant because you are learning here about the real human body and how it functions. Particularly, there will be three internals held in a year, out of which you must score 50 out of 100 for each subject. So there is a little difficulty in passing because the syllabus is huge.
Other: I chose this course because it was my childhood dream. But apart from this, I am learning about the human body in detail, which gives me goosebumps. Things that need to be improved are college timing and teaching methods. Ganesh festival is celebrated grandly in our college in September. Our college has a nice environment. We will get an SSP scholarship of 55,000 per year for an income of less than 2 lakh rupees.

Glorious visit to Belagavi Institute of Medical Sciences.
Placements: The recruitment is very nice. We get placed in many postings and different departments of the hospital, and the stipend they provide the interns is also great, helps the future doctors a lot, and is also very good regarding facilities in the hospital.
Infrastructure: The hostel campus and the academics are well maintained, and the college is not too old for the infrastructure. Recently, they inaugurated new hostels for boys and freshmen. It's also close to the campus as well as the hospital, so the students can easily access them.
Faculty: The medicine curriculum is, as usual, the same. It keeps changing every year, and I cannot guess what next change they will introduce. Still, it's very difficult to study and maintain a personal life along with studies, so dedication is the most needed thing at present.

It is the best college to gain clinical knowledge.
Placements: Around 104 students joined our college. Everyone has the opportunity to join different hospitals. After passing the course, the government offers a one-year internship at the same college and hospital with a salary of Rs. 30,000 per month.
Infrastructure: It has a good hostel and an excellent location. The water temperature in the shower varies from cold to ice cold, even if you turn it on for ten minutes. Rooms are huge and the beds are quite private, making them a good place to stay.
Faculty: Professors are very friendly and skilled in their respective departments. Our college is building a new wing for a special purpose in ways in which students will benefit.
Other: I chose this college to complete my UG degree. Based on the performance in the UG NEET exam, the government provides seats in our college. Belagavi Institute of Medical Sciences is a comfortable place for studying. The atmosphere in our college is good.

Our college has good accommodation and faculty members.
Placements: Placements were not good in the medical field. The stipend offered was Rs. 30,000 per month. Most students appeared for PG exams.
Infrastructure: The sports encouraged were football, cricket, and volleyball. Our labs were huge and spacious. The hostel rooms were on a double-sharing basis with an attached bathroom. The hostel had a gym. There was a recreational room with a TV for indoor games and a study room with Wi-Fi access.
Faculty: The college had highly qualified and supportive teachers who would help you if you reach out to them. They mostly used PowerPoint presentations and hardly used the blackboard. The course was divided into 3 phases, the first one was preclinical, which was the first year and had 3 subjects. The second phase was paraclinical and consisted of 3rd semesters with four preclinical subjects. The third phase of the second year consisted of three subjects.
Other: Our college did not organise cultural activities.
