A place to discover everything except practicing on the patient.
Placements: We were 100 students enrolled in a batch. There are no placements, after college you are on your own. Also, there are no packages. We get a mandatory internship from our college itself. It depends on the student how well or badly they treat the patients and depending on that they are given patients to treat.
Infrastructure: We only have a small library but the collection of books on dental subjects is decent. The classrooms were pretty okay, no complaints there. The overall infrastructure of the college has always been under construction from I enrolled till the day I left college. The canteen and the mess food is not good. There are no sports or games facilities provided by the college itself. Also, there are no updated medical facilities except a really old hospital at the gate of the college.
Faculty: Some of the teachers were great and I will be forever grateful for them. But to be honest I and our entire batch, and if I'm being honest every student in college has had some issues with faculty. They are way too involved in people's private lives than the academic part. Some teachers do a really good job at teaching, Others are bad. The exams are good and relevant and prepare us for the academic part. As far as the practical part is concerned there are way too less patients to develop a proper practice in college.
Other: The worst crowd and the worst atmosphere. I am glad enough to get out of that toxic hellhole. I'm sorry if I'm being too harsh but some of the worst experiences of my life were from our college. This includes the student atmosphere and some of the faculty members' behavior. It's not just me but almost every student has experienced it at some point in their life in college. But I will be glad for the friends I made.
