Strong placements but average campus life.
Placements: I recently graduated in 2025 from the computer science and engineering Branch. From my personal experience, the college has a very good placement record. In 2025, a total of 208 jobs were offered across all the branches, and 129 students were placed. The average package ranges around 3.5 LPA-4 LPA. Top recruiters include Amazon, IBM, UST, TCS, Cognizant, EY, Federal Bank, Infosys, Schneider Electric, etc. Placement opportunities are best in CSE, with around 70%-80% of students in the branch getting placed.
Infrastructure: The college infrastructure is decent and includes most essential facilities, but there is still room for improvement. Facilities such as well-maintained classrooms, library, and fab labs are available, although some of the department-specific labs could be better maintained. Wi-Fi is available, but the connectivity is not always reliable. The canteen is decent and hygienic, and the hostels are okay.
Faculty: The faculty is one of the strong points of the college. Most of the faculty members are well-qualified and approachable. They maintain a good teaching standard and are encouraging. The course curriculum is relevant and aligned with university guidelines. With the right effort and guidance, students can become industry-ready. The pass percentage is generally high, and students who put in a reasonable amount of effort usually clear the exams without much trouble.
Other: The one area where the college might fall short is campus life. If you are expecting a vibrant campus life filled with frequent events and fests, then CEC might not fully meet your expectations. While there are events and activities conducted occasionally, they are not as frequent as those in some other colleges. So, if you are looking for a college that focuses strongly on academics, CEC is a great choice. However, if you are someone who prioritizes a dynamic campus life, you may want to weigh your options.

Dissatisfied because of the campus life but really good placements all year and good teachers.
Placements: 60% of students get placed. The highest salary package is 9 LPA. The average salary is 5 LPA. The lowest salary is 4 LPA. Infosys, Cognizant, UST Global, TCS Prime and Digital, EY, IBM, Experion Technologies, Lektik, IPA, Forbes Marshall, and Schneider Electronics. Around 70% of students got internships.
Infrastructure: Colleges have nice labs but sometimes have Wi-Fi and serve problems. College has a nice building. There few courses in our college engineering section have only 3 streams computer science and engineering, electronics and communication engineering, electrical and electronics engineering. The availability of food in canteen is not that good. The college don't have a proper ground to conduct sports.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful and guide to prepare for the exam. With the right guidance, we can ace the exams. The course curriculum is important for the preparation of exams. It only gives us therotical knowledge. The semester exam has great quality.
Other: I chose this course because it's comparatively easy and better salary. More practical exams are there.

Only known for placements.
Placements: This college offers good placements with different companies. However, last year the highest package was 9 LPA, which was not good, but this year it should be better. People who have started companies and work in good companies come here for orientation. Good placements overall.
Infrastructure: The course is okay, but the Wi-Fi facility is not available. This college is old and a little furnished. The library has books related to the course. Talking about arts, sports, and extracurricular activities, they are not good; I would say few are considered since the new principal arrived. Only study and other practices are considered now.
Faculty: Regular exams are conducted, and the faculty are college-level. For semester exams, you either get plenty of holidays or very few, and most of the fees are remitted soon after the exams are over. Teaching quality is also okay, but most of the time when classes are low, portions are still pending.
Other: Campus life is very poor. If you want to enjoy college, it is not at all recommended, being poorer than other colleges. Only the friend's vibe and poor sports and arts facilities are available.

A complete overview of the College of Engineering, Chengannur.
Placements: About 70-80% of CSE Students get placed, and 40-50% of EC students get placed. But only 10% of EEE students get placed in our college. The highest package is around 10-12 LPA. Top recruiting companies are IBM, Infosys, UST, TCS, etc. Internships depend on the students applying for them. Their skill get mainly focused.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is average. Labs, fab labs, and the library are available, but not maintained properly. Wi-Fi is so bad. The hostel is okay. The mess and canteen are okay, not so good, and not so bad. It is hygienic, in my opinion, compared to nearby hotels. Classrooms are okay.
Faculty: The teachers are good and qualified. They always provide good things to students and are supportive. The curriculum of KTU is not relevant. We are studying those things that are not at all relevant in day-to-day life. So, internships and self learning play an important role in college life.
Other: I am interested in coding. So, I chose this course. There are more internships in our course. The learning events in our college are good, great, and mostly top-notch. But, other than that, like tech fests, arts, etc., are so poor. The campus enjoyment is also poor.

Very small campus and average college life.
Placements: Placements in my course are low. Placements for IT companies are high but for other courses core jobs, there are very few 1-2 placements only. Top recruiting companies are TCS, Wipro, Amazon, etc. The highest package is 9 LPA, and there is an average LPA of 3.5.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is not that good. Campus is very small as it is located in the middle of town. The playground here is very small. All the labs are ancient. Hostel is also not so good with lack of water and not good food. Canteen food is very cheap but does not taste that good.
Faculty: All teachers are very knowledgeable in their specific subjects. But only some of them are good at teaching and making you understand the subject. The pass percentage is very high. Everyone passes and exams are not that difficult. If you study well, you can easily clear all the exams.

Some of the faculties are not at all good, and the campus is very small. Events and fests are rare.
Placements: The placement in Electronics and Communication is very low. The placements are only good for Computer Science students. Top recruiting companies are IT companies, like TCS, Wipro, etc. The placement opportunities for other branches in core sectors are very low.
Infrastructure: The college campus is really small, and there is no space. The labs and other facilities are also very poor and ancient. Hostel facilities are also not good. There is a water shortage every day. The canteen food is also not that good, it's average, but very cheap and affordable.
Faculty: Some of the faculty members are absolute trash. They don't teach anything and give a lot of workload. If you get these trash faculty members, you will surely get supplies for semester exams. Pray to get good faculty members. Other faculty members are good, they are knowledgeable in their subject and teach you well.
Other: The events in this college are very low. There are events or fests held once or twice a year. Only the arts and sports fests are good, and there are no other festivals. I chose B.Tech in ECE because of the future opportunities.
