It has good placements and a calm campus, but self-effort matters a lot.
Placements: I am from the B.Tech Computer Science and Engineering batch of the College of Engineering, Chengannur. Around 65-75 percent of students from our course got placed through campus placements, mainly in IT and software roles. The highest package offered ranges from 25-30 LPA, which is offered to a few exceptional students. The average package ranges from 4-6 LPA. The lowest package ranges from 3-3.5 LPA. Major recruiters included TCS, Infosys, Wipro, EY, Accenture, IBM, and UST Global. Around 40-50% of students secured internships through self-effort, college support, or online platforms. Common roles offered are software engineer, system engineer, analyst, and related positions.
Infrastructure: For the CSE department at College of Engineering, Chengannur, classrooms and labs are decent and sufficient for regular academic needs. Labs have the required systems and software. The library is well-maintained with enough textbooks and reference materials. Hostel facilities are average, with basic rooms and manageable living conditions. Mess food quality is mixed, while the canteen is useful for snacks. Basic medical facilities are available. Sports facilities exist but are limited and mostly student-managed.
Faculty: Teachers are generally qualified and knowledgeable. Most of them are helpful when approached. Teaching quality varied among faculty but was overall satisfactory. The course curriculum is relevant under KTU, though it is more theory-based and requires additional self-learning to become industry-ready. Semester exams are moderately difficult and need consistent preparation rather than last-minute study. The overall pass percentage is good. Many students pass if they attend classes regularly and prepare well for internal assessment and university exams.

Dissatisfied because of the campus life but really good placements all year and good teachers.
Placements: 60% of students get placed. The highest salary package is 9 LPA. The average salary is 5 LPA. The lowest salary is 4 LPA. Infosys, Cognizant, UST Global, TCS Prime and Digital, EY, IBM, Experion Technologies, Lektik, IPA, Forbes Marshall, and Schneider Electronics. Around 70% of students got internships.
Infrastructure: Colleges have nice labs but sometimes have Wi-Fi and serve problems. College has a nice building. There few courses in our college engineering section have only 3 streams computer science and engineering, electronics and communication engineering, electrical and electronics engineering. The availability of food in canteen is not that good. The college don't have a proper ground to conduct sports.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful and guide to prepare for the exam. With the right guidance, we can ace the exams. The course curriculum is important for the preparation of exams. It only gives us therotical knowledge. The semester exam has great quality.
Other: I chose this course because it's comparatively easy and better salary. More practical exams are there.

A complete overview of the College of Engineering, Chengannur.
Placements: About 70-80% of CSE Students get placed, and 40-50% of EC students get placed. But only 10% of EEE students get placed in our college. The highest package is around 10-12 LPA. Top recruiting companies are IBM, Infosys, UST, TCS, etc. Internships depend on the students applying for them. Their skill get mainly focused.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is average. Labs, fab labs, and the library are available, but not maintained properly. Wi-Fi is so bad. The hostel is okay. The mess and canteen are okay, not so good, and not so bad. It is hygienic, in my opinion, compared to nearby hotels. Classrooms are okay.
Faculty: The teachers are good and qualified. They always provide good things to students and are supportive. The curriculum of KTU is not relevant. We are studying those things that are not at all relevant in day-to-day life. So, internships and self learning play an important role in college life.
Other: I am interested in coding. So, I chose this course. There are more internships in our course. The learning events in our college are good, great, and mostly top-notch. But, other than that, like tech fests, arts, etc., are so poor. The campus enjoyment is also poor.

Some of the faculties are not at all good, and the campus is very small. Events and fests are rare.
Placements: The placement in Electronics and Communication is very low. The placements are only good for Computer Science students. Top recruiting companies are IT companies, like TCS, Wipro, etc. The placement opportunities for other branches in core sectors are very low.
Infrastructure: The college campus is really small, and there is no space. The labs and other facilities are also very poor and ancient. Hostel facilities are also not good. There is a water shortage every day. The canteen food is also not that good, it's average, but very cheap and affordable.
Faculty: Some of the faculty members are absolute trash. They don't teach anything and give a lot of workload. If you get these trash faculty members, you will surely get supplies for semester exams. Pray to get good faculty members. Other faculty members are good, they are knowledgeable in their subject and teach you well.
Other: The events in this college are very low. There are events or fests held once or twice a year. Only the arts and sports fests are good, and there are no other festivals. I chose B.Tech in ECE because of the future opportunities.

Very small campus and average college life.
Placements: Placements in my course are low. Placements for IT companies are high but for other courses core jobs, there are very few 1-2 placements only. Top recruiting companies are TCS, Wipro, Amazon, etc. The highest package is 9 LPA, and there is an average LPA of 3.5.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is not that good. Campus is very small as it is located in the middle of town. The playground here is very small. All the labs are ancient. Hostel is also not so good with lack of water and not good food. Canteen food is very cheap but does not taste that good.
Faculty: All teachers are very knowledgeable in their specific subjects. But only some of them are good at teaching and making you understand the subject. The pass percentage is very high. Everyone passes and exams are not that difficult. If you study well, you can easily clear all the exams.

Memories of College of Engineering, Chengannur.
Placements: From the third year, students become eligible for campus placements. The companies that visited College of Engineering, Chengannur are IBM, UST, TCS, Infosys, Cognizant, IPA Private Limited, etc. The highest package is 9 LPA. The average package is about 5 LPA and more. So many students are getting placed in different companies. There are many students placed at above mentioned companies. And I would also like to be placed in these companies.
Faculty: Faculty members in the College of Engineering, Chengannur are good. They have a team of experienced and qualified faculty members across various departments. For computer science department, there are 20 above staff with qualifications like Ph.D, M.Tech, and B.Tech. Likewise for every department C programming, maths, and all other teachers teach very well. I don't like electronics teachers. It must be because I don't like those subjects. Talking about exams there are 2 series of tests in a semester and after that semester exam. Likewise in all the year. College offers various undergraduate and postgraduate programs with a curriculum designed to provide students with a strong foundation in their chosen field. Undergraduate programs(B.Tech) are computer science and engineering, core courses are programming data structure algorithms, etc. Specialization in artificial intelligence is also available here, in electrical and electronics engineering with core courses electrical circuits power systems, electronics and communication engineering, with core courses in electronics communications, network theory, etc.
Other: Events are very less compared to other colleges. They focus mainly on academics. There are many workshops here we can attend. Seniors are taking so many classes and their classes are very good. There are no programs that are so fun and something like that. The programs that we have are mostly provided by IEEE and IEDC. We have library and many books are available, students can study there. There is an annual sports day and arts day at our college and program called ethnic day is also an event.
