What is the actual truth of GIST, Rayagada?
Placements: The campus does have a placement cell, and it was not so active. The placement for electrical students was very limited. Some of the students got placed in the local small companies. Remaining students tried to crack some other Government exams for a better job and future. There was no highest package or the lowest package. There is just a median package, which is around 3-4 LPA. Internships are also very rare here.
Infrastructure: The Infrastructure here was average. The classes were basic, and the labs were limited to students in each branch. The library had a good number of books, and the Wi-Fi was very limited here. The hostel rooms were kind of okay. Each room should be shared by 2-3 students. The security here was also very much basic. The quality of food was acceptable here.
Faculty: The faculty members of my department were not very experienced, but their experiences were for average students. The course was updated each year according to the BPUT curriculum. You cannot say that it made students industry-ready, but it gave some of the typical knowledge of how the industry worked. The semester exams were a bit easy and mostly related to the textbooks. The pass percentage here was above 87%.
Other: Never expect anything extraordinary from this campus. This was just another typical engineering college in Odisha.
