One can go to that college because many companies are recruiting and offering a good position for freshers, but the salary is very minimum in the probation period.

Good infrastructure and facilities, and they should concentrate more on placements.
Placements: The placement is one of the disadvantages for marine engineering cadets. Students are mostly placed only in small companies, or else, we have to try jobs outside of this field. There are many companies conducting exams. Some are Synergy, Walem etc. Even if we want to get placed, we have to gain good knowledge to move forward.
Infrastructure: The college provides several facilities like Wi-Fi, labs, workshops, a separate library for marine students etc. The hostel facilities are there along with good food daily. There are gyms and swimming pools which are useful for students to relax.
Faculty: The faculty members are qualified and knowledgeable for marine students. The classrooms are provided with smart class techniques so that the students can be knowledgeable. The classrooms are equipped with fans, tube lights, and air-conditioners so that the students can concentrate on their studies without interruption.
Other: I took this course with my own interest to travel around the world and to know different cultures. Marine engineering is a vast subject. This can be studied only with interest.

It is a good college, but teaching is average.
Placements: Students who got placed from our course are very low because they don't have sufficient resources. The highest salary package offered is 5 LPA, the lowest salary package offered is 3 LPA and the average salary package offered is 3.5 LPA. There are no top recruitment companies in our college. Roles are offered to the students based on what we have studied.
Infrastructure: When I joined, everything was good, but after one year, everything is changed. Classrooms are good, and Wi-Fi is also available in the library. Labs are not up to the mark, but they are average. Hostel rooms and facilities are very good, but the food served was not good. Sports and games are good, and we have a good ground and gym.
Faculty: Teachers in our college are very helpful, and all are well-qualified. They are knowledgeable, and the teaching quality is also very good. I don't know exactly that the course curriculum is relevant or not because everyone is teaching the same thing. However, students have to make it relevant, so it depends upon every individual.
Other: I have chosen this course because I like it.

Don't waste your life by joining this college.
Placements: I completed BE (ECE) in GKM College. I joined in 2015, and at that time, it was a good college. But now the college management is the worst. They charge money from the students in the form of penalty, and they develop the college infrastructure. Except for the marine department, all other departments are totally waste. You can't expect any placements from this college. They will charge money for placement training, but it is a total waste of money. Companies will visit here for campus drives. One or two students will get selected by other college campus drives. The college management will display cutouts as the college is best. They will do all kinds of false advertisements.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi is available, but it is secured. They will never provide access to use Wi-Fi. First of all, they will never allow the phone to use inside the campus. Most of the equipment in labs will not work properly. Classrooms will be like school classrooms. Most of the computers will not work in the computer lab. Canteen is also very poor. The hostel is somewhat average.
Faculty: Faculty members here are not fully qualified. The management will change the faculty members every year because the highly qualified staff members will expect a high salary. They will change the staff and bring new staffs. This college will not conduct any industrial visit or any tour outside.
Other: They will not conduct any cultural events or any other programs in the college. You will think that your school is better than this college.

Our college have very good teaching and non teaching staff and have it's own shipping campus.
Placements: Around 29 students were placed in my course. The average salary offered was up-to around 70,000/-. Tata was the top most company for recruiting. The highest role offered is as chief engineer and average package was 1,00,000/-. Around and over 42 have got internship and have been placed in the top companies.
Infrastructure: Many facilities are available in the college premises like good infrastructure, sports ground with a net practice court for cricket, well furnished labs with a well-equipped classroom and library. Wi-Fi is available only in the hostel with a minimum usage of 34 Mb so as for the better of the students. The food in the mess is hygienic but ain't that good. College also have a good medical facility for the required ones. It's also has provided with a swimming pool a basketball court a cricket pitch a volleyball court and etc.
Faculty: The teaching staff provided by the college are well qualified and knowledgeable. They know in and out of the subject. The teaching quality is at its best as compared to the rest. They give many practical examples that are well useful and do take to many industrial visits.
Other: I choose this course as it was my dream and ambition to pursue and sail the seas as I love traveling. The best thing about the course is we can sail the seven seas. And earn money. I wish there should be every semester wise taking us out to the ship and even letting us to speak to the uncharged on board and know about their perspective regarding the vessel The college does provide scholarship for the First Class and the SC tribe ones. Even there are many extracurricular activities like sports day annual day, Mechanical fest, a well-equipped canteen and stationary shop with an ATM facility inside the college. It is been built amongst the surrounding around the nature.
