    On Cutoff
Q:   What is the latest cutoff information for MBA at GNIOT Institute of Management Studies?
    A:

The GNIOT Institute of Management Studies has recently announced the cutoff criteria for the 2023 MBA program, shedding light on the minimum requirements for candidates aspiring to secure admission. The focal point of this criterion revolves around the CAT (Common Admission Test) exam, a crucial benchmark in the MBA admission process.

For the 2023 intake, the institute has set the CAT cutoff at 25 percentile for the overall score. This implies that candidates must achieve a performance level surpassing at least 25% of the total marks obtained by all test-takers in the CAT exam. The percentile system in competitive exams like CAT is instrumental in assessing a candidate's relative performance against others.

A percentile score of 25 suggests that the candidate has performed better than 25% of the total participants, indicating a baseline level of competency required for consideration in the MBA program. This percentile-based cutoff is a strategic approach used by educational institutions to ensure that candidates admitted to their programs demonstrate a certain level of aptitude and competence compared to the broader pool of test-takers.

Prospective MBA candidates should meticulously analyze their CAT exam performance in light of this cutoff to gauge their eligibility for admission to the GNIOT Institute of Management Studies. Meeting or exceeding the 25 percentile threshold becomes a crucial milestone for candidates aspiring to embark on their MBA journey at this prestigious institution.

Aspirants are encouraged to delve into comprehensive preparation strategies to enhance their chances of surpassing the specified cutoff. This announcement serves as a guidepost for candidates, emphasizing the competitive nature of the admission process and the importance of achieving a percentile score that aligns with the institute's standards.

Raw and real experience of the college.
Placements: The college provides placement of a minimum of 7 LPA to every student. There was 100% placement assurance for each student of the last batch. Internships were provided to each student of the batch. Last year, the highest package was 12 lacs. Top companies like Barclays, NAB, and IDFC came to the campus for placement.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is very good. There are sections for the 1st year that are running together at the same time. We have a computer lab with a capacity of 80 students. Our college has a seminar hall with an occupancy of 200+ students at once and a lawn space. Classes are fully air-conditioned and have fully smart classrooms.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful, supportive, highly qualified, and highly experienced in the industry. Classes were very interactive. The course curriculum is very much relevant as it prepared us for the industry because we gained knowledge with examples from the industry.
Other: Each Saturday, a corporate event takes place in which corporate mentors share their experiences about industry trends and their experiences, which helps us understand the industry work culture.

My experience in college is very good. Faculty is very supportive.
Placements: I am pursuing PGDM, batch 2025–2027. Top recruiting companies are IDFC First Bank and SBI Life. The highest package offered for domestic placements is 12 LPA, and for international placements, it is 25 LPA. Almost all students get a six-month internship, after which they receive good placement opportunities.
Infrastructure: The college provides a well-maintained library with Wi-Fi connectivity. Computer labs and a canteen are also available on campus. Along with proper sitting areas for students. Each classroom has a capacity of 60 students. Proper seminars are conducted for events. An event is organized every Saturday for students.
Faculty: Post Graduate Diploma in Management provides industrial visits every trimester. They are giving students practical industrial knowledge. It also offers internships for students with a duration of six months.

The PGDM program offers strong outcomes, great placements, and industry-ready teaching.
Placements: About 92–95% of students get placed. The highest package is 20 LPA, the lowest is 4–5 LPA, and the average is 7–8.5 LPA. Top recruiters are Tata Motors, Deloitte, HDFC, and ICICI. Around 90% of students get internships in JSW, Maruti, and Tata. Roles include MT, Analyst, Marketing, HR, and Finance. Overall, the placement scenario is good.
Infrastructure: The library facilities are good, but many other facilities for a PGDM college are missing. The classrooms should have a circular arrangement to encourage participation. The hostel facility is not very good and is only convenient.
Faculty: Faculty is helpful, qualified, and teaches with practical examples. The curriculum is industry-relevant and skill-focused. Exams are moderate, testing understanding rather than rote learning. The pass percentage is high, around 90–95%, especially in the specialization of SCM.
Other: Campus life for a PGDM program involves a lot of group activities. But there is no discussion room available outside college hours.

Good learning environment with strong placements and supportive faculty.
Placements: Around 80–90% of students get placed. The highest package is good. The average package is decent and growing. Top recruiters include banking, finance, IT, and marketing firms. Most students also get internships in reputed companies with strong roles in sales, marketing, HR, and analytics.
Infrastructure: Our college provides very good facilities for the PGDM department. Classrooms are modern with projectors and smart boards, which help in interactive learning. The campus has high-speed Wi-Fi, so we can easily access materials and online tools. We also have computer labs with updated software for marketing, analytics, and presentations. The library is one of the best parts. It has a wide collection of books, journals, case studies, and a peaceful reading area. The hostel is comfortable and safe. Rooms are clean, well-maintained, and have the basic facilities students need. Security is available 24/7, so students feel safe.
Faculty: All teachers have advanced-level knowledge and good skills. It includes communication, behavior, and Ph.D.-level qualifications. The course curriculum is very relevant. It is very helpful in real-world corporate life. I do not face difficulties in passing the semester because teachers are very helpful. They teach in an easy way, using different methods that are very useful.
Other: I chose the PGDM course because I want a program that focuses more on practical learning, industry exposure, and skill development. The best things about my PGDM course are the industry-oriented curriculum, supportive faculty, and continuous learning through live projects. We get exposure to corporate culture through workshops, guest lectures, and industry visits. Everything is good, but I feel a few areas can be improved, such as increasing the number of industry visits, adding more advanced digital tools training. They provide more opportunities for internships.

Placements: There is an impeccable 100 percent placement in our college. Before we get to packages, the college has an L&D department that helps students prepare for interviews, GD grounds, PI Grounds, and AI-based resumes so that the best jobs can be acquired. Packages vary from 7 LPA to 15 LPA.
Infrastructure: Classrooms are modern, equipped with the latest tech and high-speed Wi-Fi in each individual classroom. Hostel Food is amazing. First of all, the rooms are spacious and affordable, and you get the best of the facilities that include housekeeping, Laundry twice a week, with no limit to the clothes you give.
Faculty: The faculty is very supportive, with highly qualified professors. The exams are a bit on the tough side, but they overall help a student learn and prepare better. The course curriculum is a simulation of how the industry and corporate functions, so everything learnt here can be applied directly to real life.
Other: Events, international immersion programs, DJ nights, Fests, and outbound training sessions to places such as Jim Corbett National Park. It is very exciting.
