4.8

Very good and value for money as there is no semester fees.
Placements: There are 30 students in my batch. Every package of course is the same, as it is a government college. There is no direct recruitment. There are seminars conducted by private companies. We can contact the teachers who are teaching us in the seminars.
Infrastructure: The computer lab and infrastructure are excellent. There is free Wi-Fi and all other facilities. The government hostel is in Palayam. The food is average. There are lots of game activities and sorts of competitions. The classrooms are of good quality, there are non-digital and digital classrooms with projectors.
Faculty: Teachers are good and excellent in teaching, as they are government teachers. The semester exams are good enough to score and the student needs 28 of 80 to pass. The computer science course is the best course for career and job opportunities. Teachers provide the best of themselves to teach, and there were projects last year.
Other: It is the best career-related program course. There are many events and fests held in our college. There is full support from all the students.

Really good facilities, infrastructure, etc.
Placements: Statistics is a very scopeful course in almost every sector. By taking Statistics, we can go into data analysis. We can also work in the banking sector. After completing the undergraduate course, you can pursue a post-graduate degree in Statistics or choose a Data Analysis course.
Infrastructure: Our hostel provides good food and maintains hygiene well. The rooms are also spacious. The wardens are very lovable. The food is always tasty. The wardens are not that strict, so we can chill in our rooms, and we can also visit our friends' rooms.
Faculty: The faculty is the best. Tutors conduct internal exams before our main exams, which makes the main exams easier. Before our exams, tutors cover their portions properly. If we have any doubts regarding the portions, we feel free to ask them. They are always ready to clear our doubts.

B.Sc. in Bio Chemistry - Batch of 2021
4.4
4Placements4Infrastructure4Faculty5Crowd & Campus Life5Value for Money
A College beyond words with quality education and friendly faculty.
Placements: My course is B.Sc. biochemistry, most of the degree courses do not offer any kind of placements like professional colleges. Students can seek for job after completing their graduation. After graduation students can apply for entry level jobs like research analyst, laboratory assistant or teach, quality control analyst etc. Average package falls between 10000 to 15000 rs.
Infrastructure: This course demands a lot of practical time and skill lucky my college one of the best laboratory facilities compared to other colleges near by, which consists of advanced measuring tools, lab equipments, safety measure, proper ventilation etc. Library is well maintained and updated, it can accommodate about 100 to 150 students in a time. Government hostels are provided with affordable cost and utilities. Hostel room can accompany 3 students with separate B.Ed study table, drawers etc. Food is average. Veg food is provided most of the time and non veg during weekends. There is no health insurance or medical bay provided which is one of the drawback in this college. Various kind of sports and fest are conducted and students can participate without any hesitations.
Faculty: One of the major advantage is that teachers are highly qualified and experienced and most of them are friendly. Teaching methods include PPT presentations, seminars, practical knowledge and skill development, thesis submissions etc. Teaching methods are suitable for each and every students to understand the syllabus and aim of their field of study. Semester exams are relatively easier because it covers only from the given syllabus. Syllabus are flexible and easy to understand. Minimum marks of 35 is required to pass each subjects out of 100.
Other: I chose this course because of its career opportunities and flexible syllabus and its interesting to learn about life sciences. There is nothing to improve in my course but sometimes students can come across struggle during the final face of college because of the complex timing between practical schedules and theory schedules. Fests are one of the best things in this college which include annual fest, festival fest etc. Scholarships are only provides for students who came under certain categories like obc, sc/st, oec etc. Several community activities like NSS and NCC are also available.

Review of Government College, Kariavattom.
Placements: Our college provides job opportunities through other learning platforms and campus drives. Many students got placed in our college with high salary packages. Our faculty members play a vital role in placements.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college is good. Our college has a huge library with a huge collection of all course-related books. The library has other general knowledge books. There is no hostel facility in our college for girls and boys. All students are staying as paying guests or in other hostels.
Faculty: Our teachers are highly qualified. Their teaching quality is good. They provide us with projects in the 4th and 6th semesters, which make us industry-ready. Semester exams are conducted at the university level. The pass percentage is 28%.

B.Sc. in Chemistry and Industrial Chemistry - Batch of 2022

I am completely satisfied with extracurricular activities.
Placements: I am currently pursuing B.Sc in chemistry and industrial chemistry course. In our batch, there are 27% of students, and about 27 admissions are completed for 27 students. A minimum of 50% of marks is required in subjects like chemistry, maths and physics. The chemistry subject has more marks. It is a 3-year degree course with chemistry and industrial chemistry as the core subjects. We have mathematics, English and second language as complementary subjects. Higher secondary Kerala state board or CBSE board examination is required to attend to join in the college. Students can pursue their master's degree after this course. The course mainly focuses on industrial chemistry-related internships.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college is average. Our department has a library, and the library is pretty huge. About 3 librarians take care of the library, and there are 3 classrooms respectively for every year of the course. Smart classrooms are also available, but there is no Wi-Fi and labs. There is a chemistry lab with high facilities, and this lab can accommodate about 30 students. The quality of food served is very good. A bad thing about the canteen is that meals are available only in the afternoon. We don't have any other options for food, and they offer tea and snacks in the evening. The facilities for sports should be more pronounced as our college holds very high positions in sports. There is a Sai sports academy near our college. There is a government allotted hostel nearby the college with good facilities.
Faculty: There are 6 assistant professors and one head of the department. Most of our teachers are highly skilled and hold PhD degrees. The teachers are highly helpful in academics and will help us in clearing all our doubts. The course curriculum is definitely relevant. The application of chemistry in the industrial field is fulfilled through the course.
Other: The college union conducts most of the cultural fests. There are 7 departments which compete with each other in every fest. About 30 fests will be organised in 3 years. The details of scholarships are provided by the office staff members. I wish that our college should be elaborated with more courses.

B.Sc. in Biotechnology - Batch of 2026

Government College Kariavattom is an institution with a lot of potential.
Placements: The college does not provide any placements. However, students in the Biotechnology course are often encouraged to attend internships during the course. The college also offers multiple field visits and industrial visits to students. Moreover, the courses offered in this college are quite unconventional, most of them being either double main or triple main. All courses have great potential for higher studies.
Infrastructure: The college's infrastructure is at an all-time high right now, and it's still developing new blocks and buildings. The labs are good, classrooms are well-furnished, and the girls' toilet is very extensive along with an amenities center. However, the boys' toilets are placed very far away from the classrooms, which can be annoying at times. The college doesn't have any hostel facilities, though there are plenty of PGs available within a 1 km radius of the college. But most PGs are for girls, so boys might have a hard time finding places to stay.
Faculty: The faculty is very well educated, highly qualified, and knowledgeable. However, most of them cannot translate their extensive knowledge well through teaching. Some departments, like the Zoology department, overwork students a lot. Some departments can be very supportive and will make adjustments in the internal marks given the right reason to do so. I missed out on the internal exams due to NCC camps, but some departments were generous enough to give me marks, while some made me write internal exams from scratch and barely gave me the pass mark.
Other: I chose my course, B.Sc. Biotechnology, because it is a triple main course, providing us with majors in Biotechnology, Chemistry, and either Zoology or Botany simultaneously.
