WBJEE 2025 will take place on April 27 2025 according to its scheduled date. The results for WBJEE 2025 examination will be revealed during June 2025. The WBJEEB official website provides results access through a combination of application number and password for candidates.

GCECT accepts candidates who graduated from 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics with a minimum mark of 45% (40% for reserved categories). Students enter GCECT through the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination (WBJEE) and proceed with counseling that selects students based on their obtained rankings. Those who wish to enter the second year through lateral admission need to pass the West Bengal Joint Entrance Lateral Entry Test (JELET).

The graduates of Government College of Engineering and Ceramic Technology (GCECT) secure employment at elite companies including Tata Consultancy Services, Calderys, Cognizant, Infosys, and IFGL Refractories. The placement cell at the college provides opportunities with Saint-Gobain Glass and Jindal South West and multiple leading organizations to support its industrious alumni.

The hostel fees at the Government College of Engineering and Ceramic Technology are very less, i.e, only around INR 60 per month. This fee includes the electricity charges. However, the student will need to pay separate charges for the mess. There are limited seats available at the hostel.

Through its Students' Welfare Association the Government College of Engineering and Ceramic Technology (GCECT) in Kolkata maintains an extensive selection of extracurricular activities. The Students' Welfare Association offers nine different extracurricular clubs that include Bytemonk (Tech Club), Spartans (Sports Club), Harmonica (Music Club), Revolution D (Dance Club), Astronomy Club, Kothopokothon (Drama Club), Literature Club, Quizzard (Quiz Club), Robotics Club, Fashionista (Fashion Club), and Photography Club. 

GCECT maintains an excellent placement outcome especially in Ceramic Technology which generates average compensation between 8–9 LPA. Students in Computer Science and Information Technology have achieved packages between 6–6.5 LPA as their the highest figure. The primary recruiting companies that visit GCECT are TCS, Infosys, Capgemini and Tech Mahindra.
