Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) - Batch of 2029

Absolutely satisfied with the college, it is super fun.
Placements: In my college there is no such thing as placement after completing the course. We have to give the NEET PG exam to secure a specialisation which is where we earn. Regarding internships almost all the students of the final year MBBS batch got internships at a government hospital.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is really good. We have almost the best government college facilities in all of Uttarakhand. In terms of hostel accommodation it's pretty decent but the mess is below average as I say sometimes I got sick from eating that food. Sports facilities are really good.
Faculty: Almost all the teachers are excellent. They are the most qualified professors/doctors. The course itself is pretty relevant as it revolved around medicine and almost everyone at MBBS is a qualified physician at the end of the course. Semesters are pretty hard as we have to memories tons of things just to pass the exam.
Other: Everyone is really supportive here whether your batchmates, faculty, or seniors. Everyone is pretty chill. The sports facilities are also good. We also have our teams in college and occasionally we host an annual fest where most celebrities come. It is totally fun during that time.

Government Doon Medical College, Dehradun, has amazing faculty members and a course curriculum.
Placements: We have a batch of 150 students per year in the Government Doon Medical College. Mostly, students at the end of the course give NEET PG exams, and out of which a handful of students clear NEET PG in their first attempt. There is no concept of placements in the medical college. Students can just give an interview for the post of MO, i.e., medical officer. The paid internship is mandatory at the end of the course in order to provide exposure to students.
Infrastructure: The college has well-equipped labs, but without Wi-Fi. The library has all the necessary books. Classrooms are well-equipped with a smart board, whiteboard, and blackboard. The mess food is awful. The hostel office carries all the first aid equipment and medicines. The college has a basketball ground, volleyball, tennis, badminton court, etc.
Faculty: Professors are highly qualified and knowledgeable. The best doctors of Uttarakhand teach here. MBBS is one of the most promising courses, I guess. Exams are difficult to pass. The pass percentage is 50 percent, and more than 70 percent of students pass exams, depending on attendance and marks.
Other: I got into this college via counselling that happens after the NEET exam. The course gives immense respect and aura, so I chose it. The hospital is 5 KM away from campus, which makes it difficult to travel every day. Fest is good, and they always bring a pahadi singer here. Connectivity is excellent. The railway station is just two or three KMs away. The campus surroundings are vibrant. Extracurricular activities are present, but only if we can take time for them apart from studies.

One of the best GMCs in Uttarakhand with a very good internship program.
Placements: The internship program is very good, with Rs. 15,000 given each month during the internship period. The college hospital also has a good patient inflow. Internships are done in the hospital affiliated with the college. It is compulsory for everyone to complete the internship.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is pretty average, as expected from any GMC. The campus is large, with a football ground and volleyball court. The hostel is good, with three-seater rooms provided to students. Laundry service is available. The hostel mess is average, offering different food items on different days. The food is hygienic, though there are some issues.
Faculty: Faculty members are very good. Always teach in class without missing lectures. Teachers use PPT slides for teaching. Every teacher is well experienced and educated. Since, it is an MBBS college, all faculty members are doctors. Exams take place regularly every 2-3 months. They are not very difficult and every year, we have final professional exams.
Other: The college and city life are the best. The college is located in the main city, so it is well connected with transport and other facilities. The college organizes an annual fest in winter, in which celebrities are invited to perform. I personally chose this course because it is a very stable and noble profession. One thing that can be changed about this course is that the pressure on the students should be reduced. There is a lot of academic and working pressure on both students and interns.

A brief overview of the Government Doon Medical College.
Placements: 150 students got placed from the college at the time of my admission in 2024. Students are placed in the hospital that is affiliated with the college, and during internship, interns receive a stipend of Rs. 17,000 per month. Every student needs to do an internship in a hospital.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college is good. Cambus is big and well supported with various facilities. Various facilities in different departments of the college are provided. There are 5 lecture halls and every department is well-equipped with Wi-Fi. Hostel facilities are pretty good. There are 3-seater and 2-seater rooms available. College is well-equipped with a badminton court and various indoor sports facilities. Hostel food is good, healthy, and hygienic. Different food is provided on different days.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful, especially the JRs. Well-qualified doctors and Ph.D. holders are the professors in the college. Tecahera mainly teaches using the digital board with PPT slides, apart from this, various practical knowledge is also given. There are 5 exams per year. Exams are easy to moderate. The pass percentage is above 90 percent.
Other: I chose the MBBS course because it is a very stable field. The best thing about the course is that it is a very noble profession. The pressure that the course puts on students needs to be changed. Various events are organised in the college regularly. A yearly fest is organised in winter. The campus is well located in the city, with easy connectivity to the rest of the city.

I am completely satisfied with my college.
Placements: No students were placed in our course. Students who have taken the bond facility are placed in some areas, and the highest package offered in our course is up to Rs. 1,00,000, while the lowest is up to Rs. 60,000. 100% of the students got internships from our course. The top role offered in our course is medical officer.
Infrastructure: Classrooms are well built, with the facility of AC and smart boards. The legs are well developed, with everything available according to the needs of the students. The quality of the facilities provided in the hostel is up to the mark; the facility of a lift is also available in the hostel. The quality of food available in the mess and canteen is not satisfactory. The facilities for medical care are provided in the hostel, and sports and games facilities are also available.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful, highly qualified, and knowledgeable. The teaching quality is also good, and the course curriculum is relevant, making it interesting for students to study. The semester exams are a little bit difficult, and the passing percentage is 50%.
Other: I chose this course because I want to serve humanity, and the best thing about our course is that we will learn through live patients in the ward. The festival is organized every year, scholarships are provided to the students every year, and extracurricular activities also take place every week, monthly, or annually.

College is good, but the crowd is toxic. A workload is a lot here.
Placements: 95% of students get placed here. The lowest package is 8 LPA, and the average package is 10 LPA. The highest package is 12 LPA. The government recruits most of the students from here. Almost 80% of students got internships in this course. Roles offered are junior residents and PHC doctors.
Infrastructure: There is no Wi-Fi. Labs, classrooms, the library, and other sports facilities are available. Hostels are okay. The canteen food is sometimes good and sometimes not. Medical facilities are not available. Sports facilities are available to some extent. Few games are available here.
Faculty: Teachers are underqualified. Sometimes, they are helpful and a bit knowledgeable. The rest is okay. Teaching quality is poor and includes reading slide shows. The course curriculum is relevant, and it makes students industry-ready. Semester exams are a bit difficult. 80% of students pass with others in supplementary exams.
Other: I chose this course because of my love for medical sciences. The best thing about this course is that we are respected everywhere. A bit more clinical exposure will definitely improve this course. Fests and events are organised regularly. The campus crowd is a bit toxic. The campus is small. Scholarships are available.

I am satisfied with the college from teaching to extra-curricular it is awesome.
Placements: Nearly or all students are placed at equal or near equal income as we all become doctors. The highest package as per an MBBS doctor may reach 1-1.5 lakhs per month, if PG is done it may reach up to 3-5 lakhs per month. We have not been recruited by any companies we are hired by hospital pharma companies as medical advisors. All of us need to do an internship at the end of our course in all departments of our hospital as per the MBBS curriculum. Top roles in our course include MBBS doctors, medical officers, chief medical officers, and railway medical officers.
Infrastructure: Compared to other college hostels it is much better to power with a private college. Hostels facilities include 2 to 3-seater rooms and single rooms in 4th and internship years. A study room is equipped with AC and Wi-Fi. Common bathroom for 6 rooms and common room with indoor games are available. There are trained guards on duty 24/7. Separate floor for first years to prevent ragging. Lift facilities are available. Daily cleaning and mosquito repellant sprayed daily. Common room with AC facilities on each floor is available. Medical facilities are 24/7 there as we are in medical college and outdoors we have a badminton court.
Faculty: We have top faculty members in our state and they keep on rotating with other state colleges over time. They have years of experience in teaching and clinics. Course curriculum is relevant, it makes complete doctors leave college who can practice anywhere they want. Exams are tough we need 50% to just pass and the highest marks are 60%-65% a very narrow passing spectrum.
Other: I chose this course to serve people as doctors. They are taken as god and we have to beat power with this image. Fest is held every year in November and it is exciting as we all are so worked up that this break seems a gift to us. Top singers are called for performances. Other functions are also held by various committees in our college.

GDMC is emerging as a solid government medical institution, strong on infrastructure.
Placements: Internship stipend is Rs 17,000 per month for the session 2024-2025 and for non PG JR Rs 50,000 - Rs 60,000 per month, PG president is Rs 72,000 per month.
Infrastructure: Our college has well-maintained hostel and administrative block. Lecture theatre is fully air-conditioned. Digital learning is available. Hostel rooms are of two types, three-tier and two-tier. From the first year to 3rd year, you are supposed to share a room with either one or two people. Facilities are good. The time-bound hostel entry is strictly followed and could be a merit or demerit for many.
Faculty: Curriculum is totally based on NMC and CBME. Since there are many PG seats in almost every department so the interaction between students and PG residents is frequent and that is ultimately very useful for students in order to tackle doubts. The teaching environment during the postings is good.
Other: Connectivity is good as the location of the college is in the main city.

Hi Biswajeet, Your scores are quite low to get a seat in MBBS, even in management quota, hence it is difficult for you to get a seat this year in MBBS.
