Growing department with good faculty.
Placements: Placement in our college is good compared to many government engineering colleges. Around 70-80 percent of students are getting placed. The highest package is 10 LPA and 2-3 students got an offer from Infosys and other students got offers from small companies but they are gradually growing.
Infrastructure: CSD recently opened an academic building and a library section so the infrastructure is average not too good but still good compared to other government college hostels. The college hostel is provided for girls only (college hostel ). Students have access to various clubs and more.
Faculty: The faculty members in the CSD department are knowledgeable, supportive, and approachable. They care like you are in 5 th grade they have regular parents meetings after every series exam and the faculty educational background is also quite good.

Review of Government Engineering College, Kozhikode.
Placements: The college provides placements. There is an active placement cell. This placement cell conducts placement training classes every year for final years and pre- final years. It helps us attend interviews and crack campus placements. The placement committee includes students and teachers.
Infrastructure: There is no boys' hostel. The college only has a girls' hostel. The accommodation facilities in ladies hostel are also limited. Most of the girls and all boys, except day scholars, stay in a private hostel that surrounds the college. Many hostels are available near the college.
Faculty: Faculty members and the course curriculum are good. Teachers are helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable. So we can clear any doubt without any fear. There are 2 internal exams and one end-semester exam for one subject. There are 8 subjects in a semester, including 2 labs.
Other: The campus is not spacious.

Good college and social life.
Placements: Many companies come to hire and many students get placed in good companies. About 40 Percent got placed. Almost all students went for internships in good companies and many went for further studies or to seek a job abroad. KMML and other companies hire every year.
Infrastructure: The facilities provided are very good with good lab facilities, classrooms and libraries etc. We do not have a mens hostel and space for extra curricular activities is limited. We have got many hostels nearby within walking distance to college at affordable prices and with good facilities.
Faculty: We have good qualified facilities with M.Tech and Ph.D. in their respective fields. They are good at teaching and also maintain a good relationship with the students. The curriculum is updated every 4 years and equips students with the skills to exceed expectations in our workplace.

Needs improvement in infrastructure at GECK.
Placements: About 90% of students in our batch get placement in different companies. But some of them only get good packages, and the majority of students get low packages. The top recruiting company is Larsen and Toubro. About 25% of students get opportunities in good companies, while others are offered very low packages.
Infrastructure: A well-facilitated campus is provided with a large library, labs, and good academic support. But physically, the college is limited because it is situated in the center of Kozhikode city. Therefore, less space is allotted, and we do not have proper facilities like a playground or a college basketball court.
Faculty: Faculty is always supportive in helping students improve from laziness to extraordinary performance. My favorite teacher, Mr. Tennison K. Jose, is always available for doubts in thermal engineering. The syllabus is tough and wide, so we need to study topics from each module carefully.
Other: I chose this course because I love studying mechanical things like engines, gears, and designing using CAD. The college union organizes events. The last major event held was Lakshya 2024.
