It has a really good hostel and infrastructure.
Placements: About 10 students get placed. The top recruiting company is L&T. Placements are comparatively low here. Students with above-average CGPA get placements. In overall departments, there are placements. But compared to CET and GECT, placements here are low.
Infrastructure: There is Wi-Fi in the college and hostels. There are required labs with good facilities. The quality of food available at the hostel is great. Facilities and qualities of the hostel are impressive. The most important thing is the hostel provides quality food.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful for studies. The pass percentage is gradually increasing now, which is good for students and the college. Teachers help during the lab sessions and clear doubts. Some faculty members are not much helpful, but most of them are helpful.
Other: I chose this course because it has great scope for the future. The campus does not conduct many events or programs. There are many clubs that are helpful for students like IEEE, ISTE, CALYPSO, etc.

A beautiful college that can make you successful, and cheerful, and which brings u life.
Placements: Around 50% of the total strength got placements yearly. For our branch, the highest package obtained is 15 lakhs per year. The lowest package is around Rs. 22,000. Shobha Construction, Aarbee Structures, and L&T are the top recruiting civil-based companies. Companies also provide internship opportunities for those interested.
Infrastructure: Telling about infrastructure, our college is top-rated. Classrooms are provided with projector facilities. There are seminar halls and placement halls, which are well-maintained. Also,o for practical studies, there are many more labs like the MT lab, the GE lab, the CSA lab, etc. There's a huge library in our college, a main library, and several department libraries are also there. The hotel facilities are also good. Especially the college canteen provides us with a special treat of meals every day.
Faculty: There are permanent as well as guest teachers there. They are supportive and help one to improve over knowledge. Talking about the course curriculum, it was quite difficult to study, but as I struggled more and put effort into knowing it more, it seemed to be an important one. Gradually, we are ready to work in the field by our final year. Semester exams are done strictly. Malpractices are strictly prohibited. KTU conducts the exam, and it may be difficult or sometimes average level. 80% is the pass percentage of our branch.

It has average campus life, poor placements, and okay faculty members.
Placements: About 10-20% of students got placed in my batch which is less compared to last year. The average package offered in this course is 6 LPA. Some of the companies that came for recruitment include IT companies like UST Global, Mitsogo, and some other EC-based companies. Mainly, students should focus on core companies rather than IT companies and if we select this course, it will give us more exposure to this field.
Infrastructure: We have labs for all semesters from S1 to S7. It also has a project lab to do projects. Wi-Fi is also available on the campus. We also have a department library as well as the main library. A hostel facility is also available. 3 ladies' hostels and 2 men's hostels are available near the college. We also have a hostel mess and in the college, the canteen is also available.
Faculty: Last year, the pass percentage was above 90% and our college was in 2nd position. Teachers are highly qualified and we can easily understand their way of teaching. Semester exams depend on the previous year's question papers and we also get some new questions, so we have to study.
Other: This course is best for students who would like to pursue a career in the Electronics and Communication field. Various events are organised by the student council such as tech fest, art fest, college day, etc.

Gcek- the best engineering college in northern Kerala.
Placements: The placements offered by Government College of Engineering Kannur were lesser last year compared to previous years. One of the students from Electronics and Communication received an 18 LPA package. The average package in GCEK is 4 LPA. There is an active placement cell to prepare students for placement drives.
Infrastructure: GCE Kannur has well-equipped labs and workshops for all departments. The college has Wi-Fi available in the main block. Labs and classrooms are high-tech. There is a main library and individual libraries for departments. Regarding the hostel, we have 3 blocks (A, B, C) for girls and two blocks (A, B) for boys. Hostel admission is based on government norms (family income, distance from home, academic performance). The quality of food provided is very good. We have non-veg available on almost 4-5 days per week. There is a hospital located 100 meters from the boys' hostel. The boys' hostel has basketball and volleyball courts, as well as indoor sports like table tennis.
Faculty: Most of the faculty members are well-educated and experienced. They are very friendly and maintain a good relationship with students. The college is under APJ Abdul Kalam Technology University, and our batch follows KTU's 2019 scheme. It is a little bit older, but KTU is going to introduce a new scheme in 2024. In each semester, there are two series exams and one semester exam. Exams are easy to pass if you have an understanding of the subjects. In the 2024 batch's results, we had a 77.6% pass percentage, which is 4th in the university and 2nd among government colleges.
Other: I chose Electronics and Communication Engineering because I thought it would have more applications and opportunities in the future. The college offers good facilities to make you a skilled engineer. The college has a tech fest called XPLORE, which is happening in 2024. It is a national-level tech fest. The college offers good sports facilities, including a large football and cricket ground, basketball, volleyball, and badminton courts, etc. The college has an indoor auditorium, open-air auditorium, placement hall, library, well-equipped gymnasium, canteen, co-operative store, etc. The college offers many scholarships that can cover your full tuition fee. By the way, the tuition fee is just around 10k per year.

    My dream college-GCE Kannur.
Placements: Only about 20 to 30 students get placed this year. In the electrical branch, L&T was the core company and came with a package of 6 LPA. Internships are done by the students themselves in the nearby keltron and substation. Mainly, we are placed in software roles, like developing and testing, which are very rare.
Infrastructure: Our college infrastructure is one of the best thing. And it was also one of the reason I joined college. It was well structured with labs, departments, auditoriums, stadiums, etc. Our hostels are some of the best hostel with hygiene food and all other facilities. Our canteen food was also very tasty and cheap. It was with quality food at cheap price.
Faculty: In most of the departments, experienced, capable faculty members are there. Their teaching experience and care for each student make it unique. Every faculty member is well-behaved and doesn't hesitate to teach anyone. They guide us in a proper way in our project and seminar too. In our final year project, we were able to work without any difficulty because of the facilities in the lab and the lab assistance we got. Semester exams are quite tough, although we get a pass percentage of 70% or above in each semester.
Other: I chose electrical engineering because it was very challenging course among all the engineering streams. My course helped me develop many technical skills that will help me in future career. Our college hosts various IEEE, ISTE, etc. events. Also in very 4 years, we are having a national-level tech fest.

Great faculty members, but the worst university.
Placements: This year, only around 20% of the students were placed in the whole 2021 batch, in which only 15 students got placed from my department. The highest package was 15 LPA, the lowest being 3 LPA, and the average is around 4-5 LPA. The top recruiter this year was UST. Less than 20% of students got internships during our studies.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is pretty bad as of now, really old buildings, and most of the water filters are always under maintenance. The windows are mostly broken, the fans are not working regularly, and power cuts. The hostel is pretty pocket-friendly, but that being said, the quality and hygiene are pretty low. The food they offer is above average, and it does have a basketball court and space to have fun.
Faculty: Faculty members are top-notch in this college; everyone has a great understanding of what they teach and how to schedule classes and topics. The curriculum that my college follows is very outdated and responsible. Hectic schedule - a fraudulent attempt from the university to draw money from students in the name of an insurance scheme and a fake evaluation scheme, where they just keep the money and never value the paper again.
Other: I chose this course out of my interest in the ECE field, and that being said, I was offered a scholarship to study abroad, which I applied for on my own- thanks to my professors and never the university. The university is one of the worst there is, which solely runs on the purpose of making money.
