Review of Government Polytechnic Pune.
Placements: Government Polytechnic Pune is one of the reputed Diploma colleges in Maharashtra. Yet, when it comes to placements in the Computer Engineering department, the institute does not provide direct placement opportunities. Most companies visiting the campus focus more on other departments like Mechanical, Civil or Electronics. For Computer Engineering students, there is no structured campus placement support so the majority of students prefer to pursue higher education (BE /BTech or degree programs) after completing their Diploma. Many students successfully get admission to good engineering colleges through lateral entry which helps them build better career prospects.
Infrastructure: The college has a decent infrastructure with well-maintained classrooms, laboratories and a library. Computer labs are equipped but not very advanced compared to those in private colleges. The campus is spacious and located in the heart of Pune making it accessible. Hostel facilities are available for both boys and girls, but the seats are limited and allotted on a merit basis. The hostel provides basic amenities like a mess, study room and security, though the facilities are simple and not luxurious. Many students also prefer private hostels or PGs nearby due to better comfort and availability.
Faculty: The faculty at Government Polytechnic Pune is experienced and supportive. Most teachers focus on building strong fundamentals and encourage students to continue higher studies after the Diploma. Teaching style is more theoretical than practical but overall guidance is good. The curriculum is set by MSBTE (Maharashtra State Board of Technical Education) so it is industry-oriented but slightly outdated compared to the latest technologies in computer engineering. Many reasons to choose GPP.
Placements: The college has good placements. The average starting package was 3 lakhs. Many reputed companies like Tata, TCS, L&T, etc. had recruited from our college. Almost 50% of students got internships from my course at Tata and other companies. The roles offered were Assistant Engineer, Helper, etc.
Infrastructure: The college is equipped with many advanced machines. The labs are fully working. In my time of practical, I have never faced any problems due to functional machines. The hostel is very clean in comparison, and the mess is also good. Timings are kept for the security of students.
Faculty: The teachers were very helpful throughout the course. They are highly qualified. Even though sometimes they are strict, they help if we face any problems. The course is fully industry-ready and relevant. The semester exams are not too tough if we have studied. The pass percentage is nearly 80%, and the ones who fail can apply for a re-exam easily.
Other: I am very passionate about electrical things. I liked the practical more than the theory. It could be better if there were some more deep, understanding practicals. The favorite time on campus was when there were any fests or events. The campus is full of trees and greenery. I even got a scholarship with such low fees.

Absolutely satisfied with this college.
Placements: 60 percent of students at my college were placed in different companies, and 7.5 lacs is the highest package offered by the retail industry, and the lowest package is about 2 lacs. Cognizant is the top recruiting company. One disadvantage is that the student has to get an internship on their own capabilities; college doesn't interfere in it.
Infrastructure: The college infrastructure is very clean and healthy. There are more than 10 hostels, which are very clean and safe with watchmen. The college has a good Wi-Fi connection in the labs, and the labs have very standard equipment. The quality of the food mess is very cheap; my personal opinion is to join a private mess.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful, qualified and knowledgeable, all the teachers have masters degree in engineering; some teachers also have Ph.D. courses; the curriculum is very relevant and up-to-date, and this helps students get industry-ready

Best Diploma College in Pune if you can’t afford the private ones.
Placements: The college helps you with providing on-campus placements. Not many students take interest in the on-campus placements drives because the package offered aren't that great. An average package is about 1.5 LPA to 4 LPA max. Tata consultancy offered placements to us.
Infrastructure: Our infrastructure is the best when compared to the others departments. We have great facilities of clean and ventilated labs along with 20 computers and a fast internet connection in each lab. Library issues us books for a certain time period but we got to return them.
Faculty: The teachers are well qualified and have their Masters degrees. The curriculum is well designed and helps in building an independent engineer. The exams are neither too easy nor too difficult, they are moderate. Passing percentage is 35%. Supervision is strict during the exams.
Other: Not many events take place. Sports are conducted once in a year. They should increase the number of events and should be open minded regarding many things and also provide us with well behaved watchmen.

Review of Government Polytechnic Pune.
Placements: Placements are pretty good at this college. The more marks you get, the more packages you get for the placement. People do prefer placement in diplomas, as if you get placed in Tata or Birla, you might get experience and also get a scholarship from them.
Infrastructure: The college is pretty old, but it is still maintained the way it should be. The canteen and medical services are also good. There are not a lot of sports and games. The food in the canteen is worth the money. The infrastructure is also good, and from inside there are good Wi-Fi connections.
Faculty: Yes, the teachers are knowledgeable and qualified. I kept it up-to-date and changed to a new version every year.
As a diploma student, it is important to pass the exams. neither easy nor difficult. But if you study properly, then it is easy in that way. The college also takes students on an industrial visit, which makes them ready for industry.

Yes, it is possible to change your Diploma college in 2nd year. You have to get the permission from both the colleges and if they allows then you have to get your migration and transfer certificate from the present college.

Your question is not enough. If you want to transfer from one to another Polytechnic after completing Ist year, then you can go for it. Transfer between the state polytechnics are very common. Hence, ask your principal and submit your transfer request.
