The Institute of Hotel Management, Catering & Nutrition Delhi admit candidates to BSc and MSc programme based on NCHMCT JEE score. The institute does not conduct any in-house entrance exam for the current courses. Selection list is created for BSc based on the applicants NCHMCT JEE score and for MSc based on NCHM MSc JEE exam score. In the IHM Delhi BSc HHA course curriculum, a component of IGNOU is also added. It is because the course is offered jointly by IHM Delhi and IGNOU. The open university adds a foundation course in Tourism to the curriculum. There are 10-12 counselling sessions that are conducted every year for this course of two hours each for every group.

After the BHM course, a student can join the hotel and tourism industry. However, after completing a BSc in Hotel Management course, candidates can also join the airline industry.
