IIIT Guwahati BTech seats are filled by the Joint Seat Allocation Seat (JoSAA) after qualifying the JEE Main exam. The counselling body doesn't have any registrtaion fee, the filling-in of choices on the online portal is free of cost. However, candidates might have pay the seat acceptance fee . The documents uploaded by the candidate will not be verified unless the candidate pays the seat acceptance fee. General/Open category candidates are required to pay a fee of INR 35,000, whereas SC, Gen-PwD, ST, OBC-NCL-PwD, ST-PwD, and SC-PwD have to pay INR15,000 through e-challan or through SBI net banking. The fees will be included in the semester fees once students confirm their admission.

NTA will announce the JEE Main 2026 exam date for session 2 in November. JEE Main 2026 session 2 exam will likely be held in the first week of April.
