MBA in Food and Agri Business Management 

at IIM Ahmedabad, Vastrapur

Candidates seeking admission to the two-year PGP of IIM Ahmedabad must appear in the Common Admission Test (CAT). CAT 2023 (considered for admission to the 2024-26 batch) will take place in November 2023. Candidates who are interested in seeking admission to the 2024-26 batch were able to apply online and register themselves on the official website of CAT after the CAT registration process is open.

In general, while registering for CAT, candidates must apply for PGP of IIM Ahmedabad by selecting the option available in the online registration form. The application fee for CAT (General/ OBC category) is INR 2,400. There is no additional cost included to apply for IIM Ahmedabad.

• Name of scholarship: Special Need-Based Scholarship Scheme
• Eligibility for scholarship: Candidates can avail of this scholarship on the basis of annual gross family income, ownership of assets, and the number of dependents in the family.
• When to apply for this scholarship? The application for this scholarship is invited every year in the month of July/ August.

IIM Ahmedabad PGP (MBA) placement process is conducted three clusters. Earlier, IIM Ahmedabad PGP placement process 2022 was conducted in two stages. The first stage was the lateral placement process where companies interviewed students with work experience and offered them mid-level managerial positions. In the second stage, PGP final placement process was conducted where companies were grouped into cohorts (domains such as Consulting, Finance, etc.) based on the profiles offered and these cohort group were invited to campus across three clusters for final placements.

A total of 190 companies visited the campus and offered around 220 job roles during IIM Ahmedabad PGP placements 2022. Companies such as Accenture, BCG and Bain & Co visited the campus in the Consulting domain whereas in the Investment Banking and Market domain, companies such as ARGA Investment, Avendus and Sanford C Bernstein visited the campus during IIM A PGP placements 2022. Further, from the FMCG, Conglomerate and BFSI domains, companies such as ITC, Adani Group and American Express visited the campus. Boston Consulting Group and Bain & Company made 44 and 37 offers in the Consulting domain during IIM Ahmedabad PGP placements 2022.

Internationally, IIMA has been ranked 29 by the QS Masters in Management Rankings (MBA) and 44 by the QS Global MBA Rankings. Nationally, IIM Ahmedabad ranks 1 by the NIRF 2022 and The Week 2022. IIM Ahmedabad MBA programme is offered for 2 year in PG level on the basis of entrance exam. The Institute offers it at the tuition fees worth INR 12 Lacs to INR 25 Lacs with an annual intake of 50 students. Candidates must secure a minimum aggregate of 50% in graduation and secure valid scores in CAT or GATE. The Institute is also ranked 1 by NIRF 2024 under the Management category, sufficient to prove its standing among other IIMs or institutes offering Management.

At the postgraduate level, the college provides MBA, Executive MBA, and various other courses to students. The college also provides PhD and certificate courses. The college provides two-year Post Graduate Programme in Food and Agri-business Management, one-year full time Post Graduate Programme in Management for Executives (MBA-PGPX), and others.

IIM Ahmedabad considered two kinds of CAT scores for MBA admission - Qualifying and Final score. After qualifying CAT score, the minimum sectional and overall CAT score is used to shortlist students for the Analytical Writing Test (AWT) and Personal Interview (PI) rounds.  IIMA is a public Business School located in Vastrapur, Ahmedabad with the status of an 'Institute of National Importance' by MHRD, Government of India. It was the first B-School to receive the EQUIS (European Quality Improvement System) accreditation, by the European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD). IIMA is approved by UGC and offers PG, PhD, and other courses to students. As per NIRF 2024, IIMA ranks 1 under the Management category.

However, the aforementioned fee is only indicative considering it is sourced from unofficial sources. However, as per the official website, the over MBA programme fee is inclusive of tuition fee, course materials fee, student’s stay and food during campus visits and other service facilities, such as library, etc. Students can also pay this programme fee in installments. The institute shares the fee structure along with the admission offer. For the ease of the students, IIM-A also has tie-ups with multiple banks to offer collateral-free education loans.
