To be eligible for IIM Ahmedabad MBA admissions, a candidate needs to pass a bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification from a UGC-recognised university after at least 12 years of school education with a minimum of 50% aggregate or equivalent CGPA (45% in case of SC/ ST/ PwD candidates). Candidates, appearing for the final year of their bachelor's degree with final year results awaiting, can also apply. However, such candidates, if selected, will be granted provisional admission, only if a candidate submits a pre-final certificate signed by competent authorities of the previous institute/ university, the latest by June 30 of the year of admission.

The IIM Ahmedabad PGP (MBA) placement process is conducted in clusters. The first stage is the lateral placement process, where companies interview students with work experience and offer them mid-level managerial positions. In the second stage, the PGP final placement process is conducted where companies were grouped into cohorts (domains such as Consulting, Finance, etc.) based on the profiles offered, and these cohort groups were invited to campus across three clusters for final placements.

Meant for working professionals, candidates seeking admission must have a bachelor's degree and at least four years of experience. On successful completion of this course students are given a Master of Business Administration degree. For admission, it is mandatory for all eligible candidates to take a GMAT/ GRE test. In the final selection process, candidates are also required to appear for a PI round and submit an essay.

Yes, IIM Ahmedabad offers a full-time Business Management course of six-month duration (from October to March every year) with an aim to impart the officers of the armed forces with contemporary global Management practices through case-study, classroom studies, business presentations and industry visits. In addition to this, the institute offers PG and doctoral level courses in the field of Management and Food and Agri-Business Management.

The qualifying cut-off requirement for a General category student at IIM Ahmedabad is 80 percentile. However, that doesn't guarantee that the student will surely get shortlisted for the interview on this score, this cut-off is only to separate the eligible candidates from the rest of the applications. After segregation, there are a variety of other factors taken into consideration before preparing the final list of students who receive the interview calls.

Companies such as Accenture, BCG and Bain & Co visited the campus in the Consulting domain whereas in the Investment Banking and Market domain, companies such as ARGA Investment, Avendus and Sanford C Bernstein visited the campus during IIM A PGP placements 2022. Further, from the FMCG, Conglomerate and BFSI domains, companies such as ITC, Adani Group and American Express visited the campus. Boston Consulting Group and Bain & Company made 44 and 37 offers in the Consulting domain during IIM Ahmedabad PGP placements 2022.

For admission to IIM Ahmedabad for the flagship MBA (or PGP) course, the result of CAT 2023 can be expected by the last week of December 2023 (If the CAT conducting body follows the trend as in 2022). However, if the trend is not followed, the same will most probably be out by the first week of January 2024. After the release of result, the exam takers will be able to download their CAT scorecards from the official website using their login credentials for IIM Ahmedabad admission.

To apply for the CAT exam, candidates are required to create an account, fill the CAT registration form and pay the exam application fee. The CAT form have to be submitted by a certain deadline after which no application will be accepted.  The exam is usually conducted in November.Candidates who are willing to get into IIM Ahmedabad must mention the college name and course preference in their CAT application form to get a call.
