Candidates seeking admission to IIM Bangalore MBA course must appear for CAT. It is mandatory for candidates to meet the sectional and overall CAT cutoff to be eligible for the Writing Ability Test (WAT) and Personal Interview (PI) rounds for final admission to IIM Bangalore. For IIM Bangalore MBA admission, students need to meet both the overall CAT cut off percentile and the sectional cut offs. Candidates seeking admission to IIM Bangalore must score above the 90 percentile in CAT exam. IIM Bangalore does not release CAT cutoffs in the public domain and are exclusively accessible only via account login to candidates who have appeared for the exam. Admission to the PGP course is based on CAT score. Candidates are shortlisted for the WAT and PI round on the basis of their performance in the CAT, scholastic achievement and relevant work experience. The CAT shortlisting process begins in the first or the second week of January after the result has been announced. The IIM shortlisting process starts with every IIM releasing the shortlist cut off and inviting candidates to fill the PI shortlist form. The candidates have to fill the Personal Interview form if they meet the eligibility criteria. It is reflected in the application form dashboard when they login with their CAT ID. In the PI form, candidates have to fill the following details: 1. Candidate details 2. CAT ID 3. CAT score 4. Academic details/work experience etc. The shortlist panel analyses every form and select candidates for the What-PI round. Those who are selected for the What-PI round, are informed via an email. The Iims conduct their What-PI round in March-April and announce the final selection list in May.

Post Graduate Programme or PGP offered by IIM Bangalore is a two-year full-time residential course. Candidates pursuing PGP from IIM Bangalore are awarded an MBA degree. The programme lasts for six trimesters, spread over two years, with a summer project inclusive. 

The course is offered in two specialisations, namely General and Business Analytics. The duration of the course is spread over six trimesters across two years, with a summer project intermediary.

The PGP students of IIM Bangalore are required to earn a minimum of 45 credits and a maximum of 51 credits in elective courses over three terms in their second year. The electives cover a wide array of topics. Mentioned below is a sample list of the electives offered here:

No, IIM Bangalore or any other IIMs do not offer reservation of seats to the students. However, the qualifying criteria for General and reserved categories are comparatively different. Please find below the category-wise qualifying cutoff required by all candidates.

The Real Estate Research Group at IIM Bengaluru in collaboration with the CRE Matrix has planned to introduce India's first scientific model-based commercial rental index. IIM Bangalore is known to frequently get involved in such activities.

It is not possible to join IIM Bangalore directly after Class 12 since the institute mostly offers postgraduate and doctoral level programmes in the field of Management. However, a student who has completed his/ her Class 12 can complete the final graduation and then look out for admission to IIM-B. 

The institute offers MBA, Executive MBA, and other courses at PG, doctoral and certificate level courses in the field of Management. Interested applicants are required to go through the national-level entrances and then appear for the institute-level selection rounds for final admission. Admission to the flagship course, i.e. MBA of IIM Bangalore is based on a valid score in the CAT exam, followed by a Personal Interview (PI) and Written Ability Test (WAT) round. IIM Bangalore offers admission to Indian students via CAT and international students via GMAT/ GRE. IIM Bangalore conducts IIM-B tests for admission to Executive MBA (EPGP) and PhD courses. 

Candidates selected for MBA course based on their Class 10, Class 12, CAT qualifying and CAT final cutoff are called for further selection rounds, such as the Written Ability Test and Personal Interview. A commutative score is then calculated based on the performance of the candidates in all the aforementioned parameters. Similarly for other courses, applicants who meet the set eligibility need to go through the institute-specific selection process and get shortlisted. After completion of the selection rounds, a category-wise merit list is released based on the Final Composite Score. The provisional admission offers are made accordingly, adhering to the reservation norms. 

Students have to meet the IIMB course eligibility to get admission. The eligibility requirements may change depending on the programme and specialisation. The common eligibility is as below:

Admission to EPGP course is based on  GRE/ GMAT/ IIMB Test scores. Candidates are shortlisted for the WAT and PI round on the basis of their performance in the entrance exam, scholastic achievement and relevant work experience. IIM Bangalore accepts GMAT/ GRE to provide admission to the EPGP course. Candidates qualifying for any of the two entrance exams can apply for the E-PGP course. Check out the eligibility given below:

2. Applicants from SC, ST and PwD categories must have a minimum of 45% or equivalent CGPA

The CAT cut offs for IIM Bangalore hovers between 97-100 percentile. The qualifying CAT cut off required for being eligible for IIM Bangalore's Written Ability test (What) and Personal Interview PI is 85 percentile for General category students, whereas for SC candidates, it is 70 percentile. IIMB started offering massive open online courses (MOOCs) in 2014 through its digital learning initiative, IIMBx, in partnership with edX, a non-profit online initiative of Harvard and MIT. Apart from edX, the programme offers courses on its own platform, IIMBx, and SWAYAM. IIMBx offers MOOCs in all areas of Management: Data and Insights, Economics, Finance, Marketing, People Management, Operations, and Strategy. IIMBx, the digital learning initiative of IIMB, is founded on the philosophy that everyone, regardless of their financial, academic, or social backgrounds, should have access to high quality education. IIMBx courses are available on multiple platforms, including SWAYAM, the national learning portal of India, edX, and IIMBx (open edX).

IIM Bangalore considers two kinds of CAT scores for MBA admission - Qualifying and Final score. Qualifying CAT score is the minimum sectional and overall CAT score used to shortlist students for the Analytical Writing Test (AWT) and Personal Interview (PI) rounds. Candidates above minimum cutoffs in the sectional percentile ranks, the overall percentile rank and having a positive (greater than zero) raw score in all sections of CAT are considered for the next stage. The final CAT score is cutoffs are the basis of which the candidates are called for final selection after the AWT and PI rounds are over.
