IISER Mohali Admission 2025: Application, Courses, Fees & Selection Criteria

IISER Mohali offers a total of three courses, including BS-MS, Integrated PhD and PhD across six departments, namely Biological Sciences, Chemical Sciences, Mathematical Sciences, Physical Sciences, Earth and Environmental Sciences and Humanities and Social Sciences at UG, PG and doctoral level, respectively.  Tabulated below is the list of courses offered at IISER Mohali along with their accepted entrance exam:

IISER Mohali is slight hard to get as its admission and selection is based on various entrance exam. For Bsc admissions its JEE Main and JEE advanced which are to be considered. There is also one more college level entrance exam which is IISER entrance exam to get throught this college. Geeting a good score in these entrance exams is a challenge and depends upon the rank you score. In Bsc the rank considered by the institute was around 2229. 

Jee advanced Cutoff for admission in IISER Mohali - Indian Institute of Science Education & Research for integrated BS-MS course is 14500th rank for general category and 9100 rank in OBC NCL category. Its 3600 rank for SC category and 5200 rank for Genral-Ews category cut off for IISER Mohali.

kvpy cutoff rank is around 1433, iat cut off rank is around 2279.

IISER Mohali doesn't provide a BSc course, the institute only offers admission to BS-MS dual programme. For admissions in IISER Mohali candidates have to appear either in the JEE advanced exam, KVPY exam or SCB exam. 

• To apply, fill out the IISER Mohali application form and submit it based on any one of three admission channels (JEE Advanced, KVPY or SCB).
• Candidates who are shortlisted will be required to attend counselling. After acquiring qualifying marks, candidates will be selected according to the merit list.

Hello Nishar Ahmed, admissions to Indian Institute of Science Education and Research can be taken via any of the three routes, by appearing for JEE advanced examination or KVPY or through the admission test conducted by this Institute itself. You can definitely get admission in this Institute since you have scored 70% in your 12th standard while eligibility criteria for general category students is kept at 60%. Of course with 70% you cannot take JEE advanced since there the eligibility is at 75%. But you can follow the path of entrance exam conducted by this Institute. The IISER Entrance Exam 2026 counselling dates will be announced by June. Last year, nine rounds of counselling were conducted between July and September 2025. This year the number of rounds is expected to be similar. 

The Indian Institute of Science Education and Research, Mohali has released for admission to BS and BS-MS (Dual Degree) programmes. As per the IISER Mohali cutoff 2024, the last round closing rank is 1138 for all the BS-MS specialisations. According to IISER Mohali cutoff 2023, the last round closing ranks were 706, respectively. Indian Institutes of Science Education and Research (IISERs) conduct an entrance exam in order to provide admission to candidates in the five-year-long BS-MS dual degree programme offered by them. Candidates who cleared their Class 12 in the Science stream will be eligible to apply for the IISER Entrance Exam 2024. IISER 2024 entrance examination is conducted once in every year. IISER 2024 entrance examination will have 60 questions which the candidates need to answer in the duration of three hours.

Hostel and mess charges to be paid by students in the first semester is INR 2,880. The hotel admission fee is INR 720 which is charged in the first semester and others semesters except for some semester.
