IIST Indore admissions are open currently. The institute fills seats via online admission process of Directorate of Technical Education, Government of Madhya Pradesh. Check below the steps to get a seat in the institute:

1: IIST Application Process 2026
Students interested in getting into IIST must submit the online application form for all UG and PG courses on the official website for the preferred course. The IIST application process is conducted in online mode.

2: Selection

Admission in BTech is based on JEE Main scores of the candidates. The selection for M.E. programmes is based on GATE scores.

Admission counselling is done in phases for BTech. The first phase is for candidates with JEE Main scores. Second Phase (QE) is for students who did not appear for JEE Main but have qualifying marks in Higher Secondary examination and applied for participation in online DTE Counselling. The last pahse (CLC) for candidates with JEE Main or qualifying marks but could not apply for the counselling of DTE MP.

3. Counselling

Aspirants with scores in accepted entrance exams have to register for DTE MP Counselling. The seats are allotted to candidates in three phases in BTech courses.

4: Admission Confirmation at IIST

Selected candidates are called for document verification. Aspirants who are allotted seat have to pay the IIST Indore fees to confirm their seat in the institute.

Excellent infrastructure, good industry facility, and placement facilities are good.

Placements: There are 30 students placed for this course. Industry recruitment for this course is in Automation and Robotics, Automotive/Electric Vehicles, AI and Computing, and Aerospace. Key companies are NVIDIA, Tesla, Siemens, Microsoft, etc. The top role offered is an AI Engineer Scientist.

Infrastructure: Specialized robotics lab, root race club, robotics club, smart classes, practical knowledge, library, and digital resources are very good. Room facilities, food and mess facilities, medical facilities, and sports facilities are all provided very well by our college group.

Faculty: Professors are highly qualified and knowledgeable. They provide excellent teaching facilities focusing on practical mentorship. The curriculum is highly relevant and updated for the industry, bridging the gap between hardware and software. Semester exams are difficult.

Placements: My course is B.Tech in Robotics and artificial intelligence. The placement and internship landscape reflects the high global demand for automation and intelligent systems. The salary packages for this course are among the highest in the engineering domain. Top recruiter companies are NVIDIA, Tesla.

Infrastructure: Infrastructure includes specialized Robotics lab, smart classrooms, library, and digital resources, AI and high-performance computing. Hostel and residential life has good room facilities, food and mess facilities, medical facilities. Sports and games facilities are also good.

Faculty: Professors are highly qualified and knowledgeable, providing excellent teaching facilities with a strong focus on practical mentorship. The curriculum is highly relevant and updated for the industry. Semester exams are moderately challenging.

Other: I choose it because it perfectly ends mechanical hardware with AI software. I wish there was more industry-academia collaboration. The campus provides a vibrant crowd with teach fests.

The college is decent and good enough for studies as compared to other tier 3 colleges in MP.

Placements: I am a student of the B.Tech course in the AI/ML branch. The placement opportunities are about 65 percent. The minimum package offered ranges from 5-6 LPA. Companies like TCS and Infosys often come for recruitment. Internships are not really provided by the college, and it depends on our calibre and skills.

Infrastructure: Infrastructure is decent. Labs and auditoriums are also decent but not very large and spacious, which sometimes leads to poor management. The sanitation facilities are good. The library is also decent, and most books are available. The network connection in college is poor, even after getting Wi-Fi. The hostel is also decent according to the charges. The mess food is edible. Medical facilities are good, and sports facilities are amazing.

Faculty: Some teachers are really amazing and supportive. Other teachers are average. Discipline is strictly maintained. 75 percent attendance is mandatory, and we cannot bunk classes. A message is sent to parents if students are absent from any of the lectures. The course curriculum depends on the RGPV University, and it is decent. The curriculum sometimes feels useful, but sometimes useless. Our semester exams are decent, not so hard but also not so easy. The pass percentage is above 75 percent.

Other: Extracurricular activities like sports and competitions are good. The bus facility is poor, but overall, it is a mix of all. In my opinion, it is the best college for engineering in Indore.

Satisfactory academics and campus life at IIST Indore.

Placements: Placements at Indore Institute of Science and Technology are decent, especially for students who are consistent and skilled. The college provides placement opportunities in companies like TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Capgemini and some core and startup based companies. The average package is moderate and a few students manage to get higher packages through off campus efforts. Training sessions, mock interviews and aptitude classes are conducted to prepare students for placements.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure of IIST is good. Classrooms are spacious and well ventilated and have smart boards too, labs are properly equipped and the campus is clean and green. The library has a good collection of academic books and digital resources. Wi-Fi is available in most areas though the speed can vary at times. Hostel facilities are satisfactory. Rooms are decent with proper ventilation and attached wash area, food quality is good, proper hygiene is maintained, and basic amenities are provided. Sports and gym facilities are available for both indoor and outdoor games.

Faculty: The faculty members are supportive, qualified, and approachable. Most teachers explain concepts clearly and are willing to help students outside of class hours. Some faculty members are highly experienced while a few subjects depend more on self study, which is common in engineering colleges.

Other: I am pursuing B. Tech in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning at Indore Institute of Science and Technology. I chose this course due to the increasing demand for AI based technologies. The course provides a good foundation in programming and machine learning concepts and faculty members are supportive and approachable. More industry oriented training, live projects and internship opportunities wIll improve practical exposure. The campus crowd is friendly, and the environment is disciplined. Various technical and cultural events are organized, though larger fests can be improved. The campus is well connected and scholarships are available for eligible students.

Placements: The college is highly focused on making students industry ready. It has a excellent placement record, with top packages of 44 LPA Amazon and 24.74 LPA Cisco. After the sixth semester, 100 percent internship assistance is provided. Regular on campus training and internships help students gain strong technical skills, which are very useful during placements.

Infrastructure: Our campus has modern infrastructure with advanced labs, high end i7 PCs with GPUs updated software, a clean canteen, and excellent sports facilities. The central library is well stocked with books, journals and digital resources. All essential facilities are available within the campus.

Faculty: Faculty members are experienced, supportive and approachable. They guide students through internships and industrial oriented sessions helping bridge the gap between theory and practical applications. End of semester exams are conducted by the Technical University of Madhya Pradesh.

Other: The college offers great value for money with all facilities under one campus. Scholarships are available for meritorious students and athletes. Free on campus training and internship programs are a big advantage. Cultural events, sports meets, celebrity nights and technical fests make campus life enjoyable and vibrant.

Placements: As a first-year B.Tech CSE student at IIST, I feel the college has a well planned and structured approach towards placements. Average package increases to 5.89 LPA. It reflects continuous improvement. Placement preparation begins from the first year. It allows students to develop skills gradually.

Infrastructure: As a day scholar at IIST, my experience with campus infrastructure is practical and academically supportive. Classrooms are clean, spacious and comfortable. It helps maintain focus during lectures. Laboratories are adequately equipped for regular practical sessions and coding work. Library provides a disciplined environment with useful materials for exam preparation and self study. Feedback from friends who stay in the hostel is positive regarding discipline. Manageable rooms, hygienic mess food, sports facilities and basic medical support. Infrastructure may not be luxurious but it is reliable and supports a serious, study oriented college life.

Faculty: The faculty at IIST is supportive, approachable and well qualified. Teachers explain concepts clearly. They encourage doubt solving and motivate students to perform better academically. Curriculum covers all essential core computer science subjects helping build a strong foundation. Students are encouraged to explore industry oriented skills through self learning, projects and internships. We have not yet appeared for end semester exams. Based on mid semester exams the difficulty level is moderate. Exams are concept based, manageable with regular study. They focus more on understanding than rote learning. Curriculum aligns with Industry 4.2 helping us understand current industry needs. Technical learning is supported through GDG and SIGs providing early coding exposure. Along with technical skills, equal importance is given to communication, leadership, and personality development through various clubs like the Lexicon Club, making the journey towards placements motivating and exciting.
