Best decision of life.
Placements: Around 350 students are there in a batch per year. There are many courses offered by our college, including B.Sc. Degree courses, craftsmanship courses in food production, and diploma courses in F&B and food production. Top recruiters are 5-star hotels like Oberoi, Marriott, Hyatt, Taj, Park, etc.
Infrastructure: There is Wi-Fi available throughout the campus, which never disappoints. Huge and neat labs with good quality computers and furniture. Classes are always very clean and maintained. The library has to be my favorite place—quiet, peaceful, and very comfortable. The canteen is a place where students can come and buy confectionery that is sold throughout the day. There are many sports available on the campus like volleyball, chess, tennis, carom board, badminton, etc.
Faculty: The teachers here are extremely qualified and intelligent. There are some teachers who teach more than 2 subjects from completely different departments. They are always there to counsel students, helping them throughout and teaching them. This course gives us a basic and clear idea of the hospitality industry, and all we need to know about it. We learn something new every single day.
Other: I always wanted to be a bakery and pastry chef. I love baking cakes and wanted to build a career out of it. IHM Goa was an amazing opportunity for me, and till this date, I never regret my decision. I have been so happy to learn theoretically and practically all about hotel management. IHM Goa not only focuses on academics but also on the students' mental health, planning events and competitions from time to time where students can have a break and enjoy rather than just studying.

IHM Goa; A college for born hoteliers.
Placements: The placement percentage is very good. The package varies from 30LPA to 70 LPA. The top recruiters include Taj, Oberoi, Hyatt, Rebel Foods, Pizza Hut, Taco Bell, The Fern, and many more. The top roles offered are Management Trainee, Commi 1, Assistant Manager, Bar Executive, Food and Beverages Executive, etc.
Infrastructure: The facilities available in the college include a computer room, library for internet accessibility, well-lighted and ventilated classrooms, and a well-equipped kitchen for practicals. The hostel is also good and covers all the basic requirements of a student. The food in the mess and canteen is pretty good. Medical facilities are also nice, and they have sports rooms as well and conduct different inter-college sports tournaments.
Faculty: The teachers here are very helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable. The teaching quality is top-notch without a doubt. Yes, absolutely, the course curriculum is very relevant and does make the students industry-ready, as they not only teach bookish things but practical aspects as well. The semester exams are not too difficult or too easy, but it all depends on how much effort you put in. The pass percentage is somewhat around 98%.

A college that makes you a skilled professional in the hospitality industry.
Placements: The placements were a little bad after Covid. They didn't even select a single person as a permanent from our batch which was the same. There were other 5-star hotels in the placements, which was a good thing, but not a variety of options. But there were better IHM students who should try them first.
Infrastructure: It was not a modern campus. The infrastructure was old. There was no AC in classroom, only in computer lab and offices. There was old fashion canteen, and practical training facilities were provided. There were 3 kitchens, practical hall, housekeeping labs, front office labs, and restaurant. There was a library. There was a playground where you could go any time at the time during college.
Faculty: Faculty members were okay with a mixture of experienced teachers and educators who belong to the same industry. The institute was nice, if the students were serious, they would really like the institute as it's known for education and professional skills. The faculty understands the student's problem and supports them.
Other: I was very excited about this college because I was really interested in the hospitality industry. I am eager to learn from a person who loves to cook so basically it was my ambition. I prepared for the NCHMCT exam and applied here, and I chose IHM Goa which I basically don't regret.

Average curriculum. Good placements. Biased faculty.
Placements: The highest package this year was 4 LPA in retail. Top recruiters were Marriott, Hyatt, Hilton, Oberoi, Taj, etc. Everybody got internships from Marriott, Hyatt, Hilton, etc. The role provided is that of a Management Trainee. The only problem with the college placements is that one student, even after receiving an offer, can sit for another placement, which lessens the chances for others. Additionally, the placement coordinator will make you follow a resume format that is centuries old, something that even the Area Director laughed at when he saw it during my regional round of Management Trainee interview.
Infrastructure: The maximum number of practical labs are offered by this IHM. However, the hostel and food facilities are not up to the mark. The hostel accommodation is only provided in the first year; from the second year onwards, students have to find accommodation outside the college, which can be expensive. The average rent amounts to around 6k per month. The college hostels only provide food during the day for students who attend college; additional payment of 2k per month is required for evening meals. Overall, the hostel experience is not worthwhile. If given the opportunity, it's advisable to contact friends and share rent expenses by living together. A 1bhk accommodation costs around 15k in this area.
Faculty: The teachers are highly knowledgeable, but the teaching quality does not meet expectations. If you want to specialize in culinary arts and bartending/mixology, you need to learn those separately. The college strictly follows a curriculum, leaving much of the learning process up to individual students, from memorizing recipes to performing them in practical sessions. Most teachers will provide only one demonstration class. The semesters are relatively easy to pass, with the only subject where students tend to struggle being accountancy. Regular class attendance is all that's required to pass.
Other: Placement guarantee and diverse career options. Instead of reading out PDFs, the teachers should involve students in practical. Help around and focus on all the students.

Our college provides good placements.
Placements: Our college provides good placements in top hospitality, travel, and retail industries. More than 80% of students got placed in our college. Students got good salary packages. The top role offered is a management trainee.
Infrastructure: Our college provides the best infrastructure. We have good playgrounds. The campus is huge. It is surrounded by trees. Our college provides facilities like a parking area, food, drinking water, etc.
Faculty: Faculty members are very good and knowledgeable. They should change their teaching techniques. Old techniques are outdated. Some faculty members are old.
Other: You can get good exposure to the hospitality and retail industries. Our college conducts only a few events and fests.

Good faculty members and good placements.
Placements: IHM Goa is one of the best government colleges. They have many placements like Taj Groups of Hotels, Oberoi Hotels and Resort, ITC Hotel, Marriott International, Hyatt Hotels, Hilton Hotels and Resort, The Leela, Cost Cruise, and Emirates Airlines.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is good but the buildings are very old with less equipment. There is a garden and road in the institute. There are two wings, old wing and new wing. Two cafeterias, old cafeteria and new cafeteria. The building theme is blue and it is very nice.
Faculty: Faculty members of IHM Goa are very good. They cooperate with everyone. They teach us very well. If any child is unable to understand then they teach them very well. They teach students like their own children and are good at taking care of every student.
