No, JIPMER Puducherry admit candidates to its MBBS programme based on merit in NEET only. There is no other provision for selection. National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) is conducted once in a year in offline or paper-pencil based test (PBT) mode. The national-level exam is conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). Aspirants can visit its official website to register and apply. In addition to this, candidates must secure a minimum aggregate of 50% in Class 12.  

The period of training for MD course is three completed years including the examinations  period at JIPMER Puducherry. However, for the students with a two-year PG Diploma in the same subject, the period of training shall be two years. Moreover, the institute's training procedure is designed involves learning experience for candidates around the needs of the community.

JIPMER Puducherry admit candidates to the MD programmes based on INI CET scores. Hence, the cutoff is released based on exam score and seat availability. The selection criteria vary from one course to another. While some courses like MBBS require valid scores in NEET-UG and other courses like BSc and MSc, the institute conducts its entrance exam.
