One of the best medical colleges of India.

Placements: There is one year of internship at the end of final year. JIPMER offers the highest stipend for a medical intern which is 23,500/- per month. The interns are posted in various departments for a duration of one year. There are no proper placements and company visits in medical field, once you complete your internship, you can either start practicing in a hospital or opt for MD or MS.

Infrastructure: The social life, in my opinion is the best here. The city of Pondicherry is a cute little place, with so many attractions to offer. Our campus offers a lot of benefits and the student council organizes time to time music jam sessions, dance club sessions and dramatics training. There are basketball courts, tennis courts, cricket ground etc. Hostel rooms are good and clean with all the necessities. Singles rooms are available from 3rd year, which will have a cupboard, table, chair, fan and light....

Placements: There are no campus placements in the medical field. However, JIPMER alumni have spread their roots in the country and abroad in various roles and are considered some of the best doctors in the world. The father of robotic surgery, Dr. Mani Menon is an alumnus of JIPMER.

Infrastructure: Since the institute is centrally funded by the government, the quality of amenities is high. Each student of JIPMER receives a Wi-Fi connection which was disrupted recently but has bounced back. The laboratories, though housed in old buildings are equipped more than adequate to meet our needs.
