B.Tech. in Computer Science Engineering - Batch of 2028

It's an average/below-average institution.
Placements: My college has an average placement percentage of about 3 students getting placed out of 10. For the past batch, our college did not take any steps to improve their placement skills, but now, for us, they are providing placement training to us, but they charge separately for the selected students.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is good enough for the CSE department. There are about 5 to 6 labs with computers, and some computers are working fine, while a few are not working. The infrastructure of the hostel is okay, but the maintenance is quite poor. The quality of food is excellent during the admissions and at the rest of the times it's quite average, to be honest.
Faculty: There are low numbers of faculty in our college. If students want to spend time on a time pass, it's okay, but if they want to learn anything, it's quite difficult. You can learn on your own if you want. But do not expect the faculty members to teach you and to make you knowledgeable.

Don't fall for the advertisement.
Placements: Our college placement is so average and can be said to be even too low. They are striving to improve our college placements, and now some small companies are coming to hire students. Internships are not provided by our campus; you can apply for internships on your own.
Infrastructure: Our engineering campus is a small one and has two blocks with 3 floors only. Infrastructure is good. Hostel infrastructure is also okay, not that bad but the thing to consider is that our hostel food is so bad. We can't achieve our nutritious goal with their foods, and sometimes the foods are limited even though we paid for unlimited.
Faculty: There is a shortage of faculty members in our college. The available faculty members of our college are also not that knowledgeable. The semester exams are easy to clear even if you study one day before the exam. The course curriculum is not so good, and it can't make us industry-ready.

It is a good college compared to other Tier 3 colleges.
Placements: Generally, my college has low placements. As compared to other courses, CSE is somewhat okay with placements. If there are 400 students in a batch, out of 400 students, students who got placed will be only under 30 to 50. But they are trying to give more placement opportunities for students year by year.
Infrastructure: My college infrastructure is good. The maintenance of the college is required, and it is lagging behind. Rooms in the hostel are good, but the food is not worth the hostel fee. There is a gym too for the hostel students, which is currently functioning in a good manner.
Faculty: Honestly, my first year faculty members were very bad at teaching, and now I am currently in my second year, but they are struggling to get faculty members. My college management has a low number of faculty members, so they have to manage all work with the same faculty members, even admission, course curriculum, extracurricular activities, etc.
Other: My college cultural events are good. The main event will be conducted for 3 to 5 days, so students can enjoy it.

If you have low marks and low money, you can prefer this college.
Placements: It's about 30% out of 100, which is the placement percentage of our college. The highest salary package offered in our college is 12 LPA. The top recruiting company for our course is Hexaware Technologies, and this time, Flipkart too. None of our college students gets internships from our college. The top roles offered in our course are junior developer and junior Java developer.
Infrastructure: The engineering campus size is small/average, and the infrastructure is good, but the maintenance of the hut cafe (an amenity) is poor. Wi-Fi connection is absolutely poor. Classrooms are good and have digital screens in all the classrooms for teaching.
Faculty: Faculty members are not that good in our college, as for many classes, there will be more free classes because of a faculty member's shortage. Some of them are qualified but not very knowledgeable. Semester exams are not that much tougher and also not too easy, as it is an autonomous institution.

My college is better than other colleges in terms of food and infrastructure.
Placements: At J. N. N Institute of Engineering, Chennai, the 2023 graduation batch sees around 64 students placed. The highest package offered is 5.60 LPA, and the lowest is around 1.68 LPA. Though the average package is not officially listed for 2023. It is approximately 4.5 LPA in the previous year. Top recruiters include TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Tech Mahindra, Capgemini, Emphasis, and Kia Motors, offering roles such as Software Developer, Data Analyst, Web Developer, and Cloud Engineer. A considerable number of students also secure internships with companies like TATA, Wipro, and Tech Mahindra, reflecting the college’s growing industry engagement and placement efforts.
Infrastructure: J. N. N Institute of Engineering, Chennai, offers good infrastructure. It has well-maintained classrooms, high-speed Wi-Fi, advanced department labs, and a digital library with access to NPTEL and Coursera. The hostel provides AC and non-AC rooms with attached bathrooms, hot water, laundry, and study areas. The mess serves hygienic and tasty South Indian vegetarian and non-vegetarian food. Medical support is available through an on-campus health center. The campus also includes sports facilities for basketball, volleyball, badminton, and indoor games like chess and carrom. It supports both academic and extracurricular development effectively.
Faculty: J. N. N Institute of Engineering, Chennai, boasts a teachers who are helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable. It ensures a supportive learning environment. The curriculum is designed to be industry-relevant, incorporating practical training and exposure to current technologies, thereby preparing students for real-world challenges. The examination process is structured and transparent, with the controller of examinations overseeing internal assessment tests and end-of-semester examinations. Semester exams are moderately challenging. The pass percentage is approximately 50%, reflecting the institution’s commitment to maintaining academic standards.
Other: I chose my course at J. N. N Institute of Engineering, Chennai, for its practical curriculum and placement focus. The best aspects include experienced faculty, good lab facilities, and industry exposure. However, curriculum updates and more hands-on projects could further improve it. The college hosts technical and cultural fests that encourage student participation. The campus crowd is friendly and diverse, with decent connectivity to Chennai city. The surrounding environment is peaceful and suitable for focused learning. Scholarships are offered based on merit, and students actively engage in extracurricular activities like sports, NSS, and technical clubs, enriching their overall college experience.

A good college as compared to other tier-3 colleges.
Placements: There is a low placement percentage for our seniors (CSE department). There is no placement training for the past batch of students. But now there is placement training for our batch students (only selected students), and it is a paid training.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is good, but as I'm a day scholar, I don't know that much about the facilities of the hostel. But once I eat the hostel food, I can review that, it's okay, not that bad. I think twice they provide non-veg for students.
Faculty: We have to study and learn things on our own, as the faculty members are not that effective. But they give us the space to work on our own. Our college has an incubation center where we can start our own startups but no faculty support will be provided.
