On Highlights
Q:   Is Jodhpur Institute of Engineering and Technology Tier 1 or Tier 2?
A:

Jodhpur Institute of Engineering and Technology is overall a Tier 2 institution. The institution offers engineering programs and shares the status of a university with Bikaner Technical University, Rajasthan. While JIET is by no means equivalent to the status of class 1, like IITs or top NITs, JIET has developed a reputable academic curriculum as well as an emphasis on practical training with engagement from the industry. This will allow the college to attract local students for which it can offer placement opportunities in different sectors, though its actual clients are probably going to come from local or less competitive job markets as compared to Tier 1 colleges.

On Admissions
Q:   Can I get direct admission at Jodhpur Institute of Engineering and Technology?
A:

Indeed, direct admission possibilities may be available at the Jodhpur Institute of Engineering and Technology (JIET), usually under specific circumstances. For applicants who have not been accepted through the conventional entrance exam process, such as JEE Main or other state-level entrance exams, direct admission is typically an option.

Among the requirements for direct admission are:

  1. Candidates who achieve a specific percentage in their qualifying exams (such as Class 12 for B.Tech) may be eligible for merit-based admissions.
  2. Management Quota: A portion of the seats may be set aside for admissions under the management quota, which frequently permits direct access according to the institute's qualifying requirements.
  3. Additional Requirements: Some diploma holders might also qualify for lateral admission to engineering schools.
Q:   What entrance exams are accepted by Jodhpur Institute of Engineering and Technology for admission to B.Tech.?
A:

The Jodhpur Institute of Engineering and Technology accepts several entrance exams for admission to B.Tech courses. The major exams for admission to B.Tech programs are JEE Main, and this institute also allows students based on REAP. In the case of B.Tech, 70% of seats are filled with the students who appeared in the JEE Main examination, and the rest are filled by state counseling. Except for EAMCET, candidates can look into other exams such as GATE. This, again, has further relevance to the postgraduate level. The entrance exams have come to play a crucial role in granting admission as they determine merit and eligibility through one's performance.

Q:   What are the documents required for admission to Jodhpur Institute of Engineering and Technology?
A:

To be admitted to Jodhpur Institute of Engineering and Technology (JIET), you'll need the following documents: academic records, identification documents and digital photograph. You can apply online for admission on the JIET Universe portal. The application process is straightforward and includes filling out your personal and academic details. Basically, you have to bring originals and copies of all the necessary certificates, JEE (Main & Advanced) Score cards, proof of address, identity proof, caste/domicile certificate (whichever is applicable), at least two passport size photographs.

Supportive faculty, good placements, and active campus life.
Placements: The B.Tech in AI & ML, with the passing out batch of 2027, has shown strong placement outcomes. 80 to 85% of students have been placed, The highest package offered is 18 to 20 LPA, the average package offered is 6 to 7LPA, and the lowest package offered is 3 to 4 LPA. Top recruiters are Microsoft, Google, Amazon, Deloitte, TCS, Infosys, Accenture, Wipro, and Capgemini. 70 to 75% students also got AI startups internships, with Amazon, Microsoft, Deloitte, Infosys, TCS, and startups in Healthcare, FinTech, EdTech. Top Roles offered are ML Engineer, Data Scientist, AI Engineer, SDE, Data Analyst, NLP Engineer, CV Engineer, and AI Research Intern.
Infrastructure: The AI & ML department has Wi-Fi-enabled, smart classrooms, dedicated AI/ML labs with high performance systems, and a well stocked library with online resources, IEEE, Springer, NPTEL, etc. Hostels are clean and Wi-Fi enabled, with decent living space. The mess provides hygienic and nutritious food, while the canteen offers snacks and fast food. The campus has a health center with medical staff and tie ups with a nearby hospital. Sports facilities include grounds, courts, a gym, and indoor games, ensuring overall development.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful, well-qualified, and knowledgeable in their respective fields. Most faculty members provide good guidance for both academic and practical learning. The curriculum is industry oriented, covering core AI/ML, Data Science, Programming, and Emerging Technologies. It includes projects, internships, and skill based learning to make students industry ready. Semester exams are moderately difficult, with regular study and attendance, students can perform well. The pass percentage remains high around 85 to 90%, as exams test understanding more than wrote learning.
Other: I am from the B.Tech AI & ML batch of 2027. I chose this course because of its future scope and industry demand. The best part is the practical, industry oriented curriculum. However, more live projects and industry tie-ups would improve it. The campus has a good crowd, fests, sports, and extracurricular activities, along with scholarships and a supportive environment.

This college is good and located in Jodhpur.
Placements: Highest package in my college is 33 LPA. Top companies like TCS, Capgemini, and Infosys recruit students. 70 to 80% of students intern at companies such as Tech Mahindra, Wipro, TCS, Infosys, and Capgemini. The top roles offered in my course are software developer, web developer, business analyst, software tester, system engineer, and trainee engineer.
Infrastructure: My department has a library, Wi-Fi connections, clean washrooms, and good labs, but not all lecture theaters have air conditioning. The hostels are good, and the food quality is average. The food quality in the canteen is very good. Medical facilities are good because my college also has a hospital, and it's good for both games and sports students.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable, and the teaching quality is good. The course curriculum in my college is mostly aligned with the core FOC, and many of the subjects, such as DSA, DBMS, OS, and Computer Networks, are essential for the tech industry. There is no difficulty in the semester exams at the college. The pass percentage in my college is 83%.
Other: My course is the best in the tech industry. There is a lot to learn in this course, like web development and software development. In my college, events like dance, games, and traditional dance are held almost every Saturday. The campus crowd is average, and the scholarship is approximately 50%.

Solid infrastructure and campus life, decent placements, but civil needs more industry exposure.
Placements: Key roles are software and junior engineering. Overall, JIET offers a strong and comprehensive environment to students for learning and gaining knowledge. Sometimes students also get the opportunity to visit IIT and NIT and make students to enjoy their life.
Infrastructure: Our college has 24X7 high-speed Wi-Fi, labs, and specialized labs. We have one main big central library along with 8 departmental libraries. Boys and girls have separate hostels. Rooms include almirahs, fans, and lights. You can get AC facilities also along with balcony. We have proper security. It also offers cafeteria and has pure veg mess. Gym and sports are also available.
Faculty: Teachers have helping nature and are good qualified like M.Tech and Ph.D. courses. Core branches faculty members are amazing like civil and mechanical. Semester exams are moderately difficult but can be scored good with regular studies. Pass percentage is 80 to 90% with strong internal support for weak students.
Other: I chose this course because I was interested in B.Tech. I prefer that civil is the backbone of all branches. Our college should improve by providing more industrial visits, software training in StaadPro and AutoCAD. It also provides advanced lab equipment. Events and fests are good but there are only 5-6 fests.

I am dissatisfied with everything.
Placements: The placement process is quite disorganised and lacks proper communication. Many students are left confused due to last-minute updates and unclear eligibility criteria. Overall, the experience is disappointing and needs significant improvement, which I have listened to through my seniors.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college and hostel has been a major area of concern despite the promises made during admission as the reality is far from satisfactory. Many classrooms are not well-maintained. They have broken benches with poor ventilation, and are outdated.
Faculty: Faculty members, course curriculum, and exam system for my course have several outcomings. Many faculty members lack effective teaching methods and do not engage students in interactive learning. Lectures are often monotonous and doubts are not addressed properly.
