Review of the college infrastructure, lifestyle, facilities, etc.
Placements: I can't tell the exact percentage of students who get placed. But approximately it will be 40 percent. Many companies like ORC Engineering, High-Tech, Next, PwC, Acceleration, MRF Limited, Airtel Payments Bank, etc., visit the college for recruitment. Our college placements are decent but not that good.
Infrastructure: There is a central computing lab which digitises the overall teaching as faculty members can use software like Autocad, Revit, SketchUp, and many more, through which students can better understand the curriculum. There is also a central library which provides the necessary books for the whole course.
Faculty: Faculty members are good. They are qualified from IITs and NITs. The course curriculum is well structured and aligned with the NEP 2020. Exams are being conducted by Assam Science and Technology University, which is situated in Guwahati. Examiners are very strict in their duties and also in checking the answer scripts.

It has balanced academics, a peaceful atmosphere, moderate placements, and improved infrastructure.
Placements: Approximately 50-60 percent of students get placed in the mechanical engineering branch. The highest package offered ranges from 13-18 LPA. The average package offered ranges from 4-7 LPA. The lowest package offered ranges from 2-3 LPA. Top recruiting companies in the oil sector are OIL, NRL, and Vedanta. Students also get placed in IT tech services like TCS, Wipro, and Infosys. HUL and UPL companies also hire students from the college.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is average in JEC. Wi-Fi and LAN are available, but sometimes, they are slow and limited. The library is currently being developed into a new central library. Classrooms are spacious, and improvements are going on. Outdoor and indoor sports are available here.
Faculty: Mostly, teachers are helpful and well-qualified. The course curriculum is designed by ASTU. Semester exams are of a moderate level. The pass percentage is 80-90 percent. Many students said that the curriculum is relevant, but many feel that the curriculum leans more towards theoretical knowledge.
Other: It's a well-reputed government college that opens a lot of opportunities, so I chose it. The fee is also affordable. It would be very nice if they focused more on placement opportunities and skill-based training. The biggest fest of JEC is Phoenix. It is an annual techno-cultural fest. The campus is surrounded by greenery. It has a peaceful atmosphere.

The college gives us exposure to experience new things and explore ourselves.
Placements: Placements in Jorhat Engineering College are average. The maximum package offered to students is 24 LPA, and the lowest package offered is 3 LPA. The average package offered ranges from 5-6 LPA. Around 40-45 percent of students get placements. Some PSUs like OIL, NRL, BCPL, and other companies like Reliance, Bedanta, Hindustan Unilever, MRF, and Dish Network also participate in the college placements.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college is well-planned and supportive of both academic and extracurricular activities. The college library is well-stocked with a wide range of academic books, reference materials, and digital resources. Laboratories are properly equipped with the necessary instruments and are maintained according to safety standards, allowing students to gain practical knowledge effectively.
Faculty: Faculty members of the college are highly qualified. They try their best to teach us and help us to clear our doubts. The college is adapting to the new curriculum, which is more concerned with industry knowledge and experiences. Semester exams are pretty hard. Only around 60-65 percent of students are able to clear the semester without any backlog.

It is one of the best colleges for engineering.
Placements: The placement rate of Jorhat Engineering College is quite good. A good number of PSUs and core-based companies visit the college in every placement season with a good average package ranging from 4-22 LPA. The college has the best placement rate for Computer Science and Engineering students.
Infrastructure: The college has a great infrastructure with large classrooms and great labs with most of the important equipment required to get a great core knowledge. The college has workshops for students to get practical knowledge with the equipment, industry-based machines, etc.
Faculty: Faculty members are among the best in the North East with extensive years of experience. They have great teaching abilities and are highly qualified. The new course curriculum is highly beneficial for students as it pushes students to be industry-ready.

JEC Life Through My Lens.
Placements: From CSE 2024 batch, the placements were not as expected. Around 60-65% got placed. The average package was around 5.5 LPA. Vedanta Mining was the top recruiter in Mechanical Engineering. For CSE, Gratia Infotech was the top recruiter. Dish Technology recruited for various positions.
Infrastructure: College infrastructure is up to the mark with well-maintained classrooms, library, and labs. Gym facilities are available. Wi-Fi connectivity is good with good speed. Hostels are proper. There are 8 boys' hostels and 2 girls' hostels. Hostels have a good environment with the best junior and senior bonding.
Faculty: CSE has helpful faculty. There is room for innovation and self-learning. Teachers are supportive. The 1st semester is a little tough, but with time, it gets better. Lab facilities are the best for CSE. The curriculum is not that good, but it follows the typical CSE syllabus.
Other: College fest takes place in March. There are several clubs. Sports week includes inter-hostel cricket, football, etc.

Average facilities and environment.
Placements: For the 2022-23 academic year, the placement percentage for CSE is 55.56%. The highest package offered is 9.5 LPA, the lowest is about 2 LPA, and the median is about 4.8 LPA. Top recruiting companies include OIL India, NRL, startups, and majorly government offices like BSNL and APDCL. Top roles in my course are SDE.
Infrastructure: LAN is available in the hostels, and campus Wi-Fi is available but slow. The central library has just been constructed and will open shortly, along with an indoor stadium. There are 4-5 open playgrounds and volleyball facilities. Hostel facilities are not up to mark, and mess food, particularly at lunch hours, is not satisfactory. There are no in-campus medical facilities, but JMCH is nearby.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful and resourceful, though there are some exceptions. The curriculum is relevant if pursued with interest. Semester exams are relatively easy but require constant effort. The pass percentage is about 60%, with poorer results in earlier semesters.

AEC any day.

1. AEC admits students on the basis of CEE examination which has a selection ratio of 2% (420/22000 * 100%). On the other hand I am not sure about the way KU admits students. Definitely it’ll be easier to get into KU.

2. Here comes the fees. tuition fees per semester in AEC is << 10,000 rupees. On the other hand you pay 50–60k rupees (or more I am not sure) if you study in KU.

3. AEC has
