KGP Srinagar (A Very Good and Excellent College)
Placements: Kashmir Government Polytechnic (KGP) in Srinagar offers Diploma courses across various engineering disciplines. While specific placement statistics can vary, the top recruiting companies that visit this college are IBM, Google, Eg Solutions, Essar Group, etc.
Infrastructure: The college has good classrooms, well-equipped labs, a library with books and e-resources, and campus-wide Wi-Fi. The hostel provides basic rooms, decent food in the mess (both veg and non-veg are available), and a canteen for snacks. Medical facilities are available, along with sports grounds and indoor games. The whole college is under CCTV cameras.
Faculty: The faculty is knowledgeable and supportive, ensuring students understand the subjects well. The curriculum is relevant and focuses on making students industry-ready with practical skills. Semester exams are moderately challenging, and the pass percentage is generally high with proper preparation. We can easily pass our exams by studying the textbooks only.
Other: I chose this course for its focus on practical skills and career opportunities in electronics and communication. The best part is the hands-on learning in labs and industry-relevant projects. Improvement is needed in updating equipment and increasing internship opportunities. The campus hosts events and fests for skill-building and fun. The crowd is friendly and diverse. Connectivity is decent, and the surroundings are peaceful. Scholarships are available for eligible students. Extracurricular activities like sports and cultural programs are also available.

The top recruiting companies are Tata, TVS, Maruti Suzuki, etc. The percentage of students who got internships in Tata Indore is 90%. The roles offered in our course are lab assistant and helper.
Infrastructure: The facilities and infrastructure available in our course are quite good, and every department has its own Wi-Fi connection and labs and classrooms. The quality of the facilities in our hostel was quite good, and the quality of food was also very good. The food available in the canteen includes chai, samosas, chole puri, bread butter, etc. The sports in our college are cricket, football, volleyball, etc.
Faculty: The teachers are very helpful and are very well-qualified and knowledgeable. The teaching quality is excellent. The course curriculum is relevant, and what makes students industry-ready is the labs and industrial visits once a month. The semesters are not too difficult; if the student has studied well for the exams, they can excel in the semester. The pass percentage is 40%.
Other: Every student in electrical and civil engineering should consider changing and taking admission in different departments/courses. The infrastructure and roads of the college need improvement. Events are done occasionally, and the campus crowd is quite good. Connectivity is excellent, and the campus surroundings are also good. Scholarships are provided by the college along with all activities.
