It is the best college in kalyan - Dombivli because of its infrastructure and placement provided .

Placements: Banking and insurance is one of the preferred courses among the students. In our batch, about 115 students were placed. There are different salary packages offered to the banking and insurance students which start from Rs.10,000 to Rs.25,000 per month. During the course, many companies like Amazon, Flipkart, Mahindra, SB enterprise visited our campus for hiring students. About 20 students got selected for the internship offered by Flipkart and got a good salary package. IB executive, OB executive, manager, team leader are some of the roles offered to the banking and insurance students.

Infrastructure: Model College is known for its great facilities and infrastructure. The college is located near the highway. So there is no problem with traveling to college. There is an auto stand in front of the college. The college has 5 floors and each floor has 10 classes. There are many vast classrooms and many small classrooms. If the number of students is less, then a small classroom is allotted to that batch, and if more students are there, a huge classroom is allotted to that batch. Our batch got huge classroom as there were 115 students. The students can go to the library and read any book they wish during leisure hours. There is a separate section for textbooks, auto-biography, and magazines. There is a separate room for reading the book. This is free of cost. The college has a canteen on the ground floor and there is always a huge crowd during the break. The food offered in the canteen is very famous and is affordable to students. The quality of food is also good. There is a stilt area where sports like cricket, football, kabaddi, basketball, and badminton are conducted.

Faculty: The best teachers are found in model college and this is the opinion of many students.Teachers are well educated, qualified and have good knowledge about their course. The teachers not only stick to the book knowledge but also gives practical knowledge and real-life knowledge. The examples given are linked to students so we can understand the concept easily. The teachers provide important concepts, notes, question banks to the students. The course curriculum is relevant and it also makes the students industry-ready. The portion is completed in 4 months and then semester exams are conducted. The exams are not very hard but can be passed easily as teachers give all notes, important points, questions bank and also important concepts during the lecture. The pass percentage of last semester was 97.50.

Other: Banking and Insurance course is a mixture of banking ,accounts, Maths and insurance. Economics and Fc which makes the course different as it gives 2 fields of knowledge in one course. This is the reason I chose this course. The course has some extraordinary subjects like law, OB which is not very important according to the course. It can be removed so the burden on students can be less and this is the improvement I need in BBI course. Model College is known for the events, fest, and Days in college. The month of February and March is the students' favourite month as all the events are conducted during this period. The days like Tie/Saree Day, Traditional Day, Angels/Devils Day, Hip Hop Day are celebrated. After these days, the events begin and there are lots of events like accounting forum, Maths forum, law forum, dancing, singing, etc. Cricket, kabaddi, volleyball, football, badminton, chess, carrom are the sports activities and students take part in it and get a certificate of participation. There are many other activities during the rest of the year.

It is the best college in Kalyan-Dombivli because of the best facilities and good placements.

Placements: About 80 students were placed from banking and insurance course. Many companies visit here to hire students for internships, jobs, etc. Flipkart, Synergy Health Tech, etc., are some companies which visit here. About 40% of students got internships from our batch. The roles offered here are manager, executive, team leader, etc.

Infrastructure: There are many facilities in our college. Some of them are a library where students can find every book they want such as textbooks, magazines, etc. The classrooms are big and are cleaned daily. The quality of food served here is good and hygienic. The rates of food are also affordable to students. There are many sports such as cricket, football, kabaddi, badminton, etc.

Faculty: The teachers here are very good and have excellent knowledge about the subject. They not only teach us the subject but also teach us many moral values which help students in their future. The course curriculum is relevant. The semester exams are difficult, but teachers help students to study by giving important questions, paper pattern, etc. The pass percentage is 97%.

Other: The reason for me to choose this course was that I am good at maths and accounts, and I want to make a career in the banking field. The course is good, but if more details about the banks were added and irrelevant subjects were removed, then it would be a perfect and best course. Our college organises an annual fest, tech fest, competitions such as singing, dancing, etc. Students also get scholarship opportunities from the college.

My Journey at Model College - 2020-2023 Batch , A Fun ride with Ups and Downs

Placements: In our BBI course at Model College, around 50-60% of students managed to secure placements. The highest package offered was around 3.5 LPA, while the average package hovered between 2-2.5 LPA. Some of the top recruiting companies included banks, financial services, and companies like TCS , Saraswat Bank, eClerx etc. Internships were available, with around 40% of students getting internships in finance, insurance, and related sectors. Roles offered were mainly in banking operations, financial services, and entry-level positions in finance firms like junior officer , Analyst, Back office operator etc.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure for the BBI department was decent. Wi-Fi was accessible in most areas, and the classrooms were equipped with basic technological aids. The library had a decent collection of books, especially for finance and banking such as main text books, Reference books etc. No Hostels were there in model college. Sports facilities were minimal but enough for a casual game of cricket or badminton.

Faculty: The faculty was experienced and helpful, though some professors were better at explaining things than others. The teaching quality was decent, and the course structure was industry-relevant to an extent, especially for finance-related roles. Exams were moderate, and if you studied consistently, passing wasn't too difficult. The pass percentage was around 95%, with a handful of students needing reattempts. The pattern was 60:40 pattern divided into Externals : Internals. Internals were quite easy and externals were moderate.

Other: The crowd was a mix of students from different backgrounds but majority of south Indian people. Annual fests and cultural events brought everyone together, and it was easy to make friends and join in on campus life. Connectivity was good due to the college's location, and extracurricular activities were limited but engaging for those who participated. The course is good for someone interested in banking and finance, but a bit more emphasis on practical training would make it better. There were many events like Cultural Fest , Annual Fest , happening throughout the year.
