Q: What is the difference between the syllabus of Andhra Pradesh LAWCET and the syllabus of CLAT?

Both the AP LAWCET and CLAT entrance exam are conducted for admission to the Law schools in India, however, the syllabus for these exams are different on many parameters and candidates should strategise differently for both the exams. AP LAWCET exam has sections including Current Affairs, Legal Aptitude, Contract Law, Constitution, etc. and the CLAT entrance exam sections include English Language, Legal Aptitude, Mathematics, etc. AP LAWCET does not have mathematics subjects, AP LAWCET exam focus more on regional knowledge. CLAT generally covers the deeper aspects of the particular subject.

A candidate should have completed graduation or post graudation from Indian or foreign university recognised as equivalent by Delhi University.
Candidates who have still not completed their degree but they are yet to give qualifying exams are also eligible to apply.
Candidates who have already done LLB course from any university are not allowed for admission to LLB courses at Campus Law University, Delhi.
Candidates who got themselves enrolled for LLB courses in any other university or they are student of LLB at university before are not allowed to take admission to LLB courses at the institute.
General and EWS candidates should have atleast 50% aggregate in the qualifying degree examination, OBC/PWD students should have atleast 45% aggregate and SC/ST students should have atleast 40% aggregate in the qualifying degree examination.

Overall, it is an amazing place to study with highly satisfied faculty.

Placements: The placement rate of the institute is not very high. Most students, instead of focusing on placements, focus more on independent litigation, politics, education, foreign studies, higher studies like LL.M., civil services, or judicial services. The law faculty has produced many strong courtroom voices.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure is really good, with Umang Bhawan. The new building has installations in every class, a good Wi-Fi connection, and very good classrooms. There are two water coolers on each floor. It is a well-ventilated and clean campus with Wi-Fi in the basement.

Faculty: The curriculum is rigorous. Faculty is highly experienced, including retired judges and experienced professors. Teachers focus on a practical understanding of subjects along with theoretical study. Many professors are renowned throughout the country for their research in law.

Pros and cons of Law Centre 2.

Placements: 9 percent of the students got placed from our course. This year our highest package is 14 LPA, the lowest is 6 LPA, and the average package offered is 8.5 LPA. This year, Trilegal, Khaitan, SAM, and S&R Associates are the top recruiting law firms. 27 percent of students got internships from our course.

Infrastructure: The Wi-Fi is good not too good. The washrooms are best here and the library is also good. All law books are available here mainly. We also have a free-of-cost medical facility in the WUS health centre. We don't have a dedicated canteen and sports complex and we also don't have a dedicated hostel facility.

Faculty: Teachers are the best among other colleges. The majority of teachers are here retired judges and retired judicial officers. The quality of teaching is also good but some teachers didn't help too much. Some teachers are too helpful. The semester exams are too tough and the passing rate is too low in our course.

Other: I chose this college because of the brand value it carries. The course is value for money but the fee is too much here. It does not have a dedicated hostel so we need to stay in PG which are too expensive then. Also overall the college and the course are value for money. Here in LC2 the networking opportunity is too high.

Great law college in budget with good vocational advantage.

Placements: As a third-year student of the LL.B. course, there are no placements, or hardly any 5% placements are provided in this college. Students often do internships in courts and in firms by reference or by applying by themselves. The top recruiting company is Khaitan and legal associate and intern are the primary roles offered.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the law centre is quite good. Classrooms are spacious with AC in each classroom. There is a centralised Wi-Fi system and we have lifts in the building. The college is well-maintained and clean. The library facility is also good, where you get law books, journals, and newspapers. Very few students get a hostel, as it depends on your CUET-PG marks and distance from your home because the seats are limited. Medical facilities are free for DU students, you just have to get a card made by your department. I don't know much about sports, as I don't play

Faculty: Teachers are very helpful, patient, and knowledgeable, but a few guest faculty teachers do not have a proper way of teaching. The curriculum is relevant, but it depends on the student you have to be aware of your goals. The semester exams are easy but the marking system is tough, so some students get a backlog in their semester. The pass percentage is 45 percent.

Other: I chose this course because I wanted to study law from a prestigious college within budget. Things which can be improved about LL.B. are that the college administration should have provided and focused more on internships and practical knowledge via visiting courts, jails, and Lok Adalats. Moot courts, societies like legal aid, criminal law society, animal law cell and many international seminars are organised in the college. The campus crowd is huge, approximately 900 seats are available in LL.B. in Law Centre II. The scholarship programme is provided by the financial support scheme every year. For extracurricular activities one can join societies, NGO, NSS, and NCC during their law course.

Journey of my LL.B. in Law Center 2, Delhi University.

Placements: Law Center 2 provides placement opportunities, but only those who score above 60% are selected by the companies. Therefore, very few people get the chance to be selected for placements. Very few companies visit our college and select only 5 to 6 students, which motivates others.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure of Law Center 2 is good. They have air conditioning and a very good library. However, the Wi-Fi does not work well. The canteen is located at the back of the college. Nearby, the arts faculty is attached outside, where there are various food courts. If anyone wants to relax, they can go to the arts faculty grounds. The natural scenery is really nice.

Faculty: The faculty is very professional and friendly. We study through the case materials provided. Exams are conducted every 4 months. Many students fail because the faculty does not give high marks; 60% is the highest. In exams, the questions come from the case materials provided on the website.

Other: Doing my LL.B. from Delhi University was my dream. The campus crowd is really good; we get to meet people from various backgrounds and states.

I really like society structure that helps students learn how to organise events.

Placements: It had a strong reputation for its campus placement opportunities in 6 and 7 semesters. Students were eligible to sit in the placements. Institutes provided placement training and mock interview preparation to the students recently. The highest package was 42 LPA, and the average package was 7 LPA offered by the institutes. Atleast 70% of students got placed through on-campus drive.

Infrastructure: My overall experience was totally amazing because of the events of the college like Induction for freshers for international competitions, moot court, and other competitions like debate, quizzes, etc. Overall, college gives vast exposure to students from different states. SSC judges and top advocates come to judges competitions so in that way too.

Faculty: Faculty members and students relations were very good. Faculty members were supportive and eager to teach. They had a passion for teaching and growth of students. Every doubt was cleared and you were encouraged to practice things that were really required for placements rather than college academics. While I didn't like some faculty members and I could not include their names. But many students disliked them because they were the most disciplined ones in the college.

Law faculty, University of Delhi.

Placements: I haven't passed out yet, so I can't be the best person to tell about it now. Also, the placement cell on campus is not that active. I heard from seniors that the placement is not that good. College placement is rare, to be honest. But if you work hard, I can be.

Infrastructure: Infrastructure is so good. The building has air conditioning and lifts. Living in Delhi without air conditioning is tough, and coming to college every day is tough. So I would say infrastructure is good. Benches and chairs are all good. The library is also decent enough. One thing that is not good is that it doesn't have a canteen and hostel facilities.

Faculty: Professors in the law faculty are very good and helpful. The syllabus is also very curated. About semester exams, it can be tiring, but if you do all the previous year's questions or the most repeated topics, you could score good marks. One more thing, in DU, they don't give many marks.

Other: One area where I feel improvement is needed is the marking system. Delhi University is a highly reputed institution, but students often receive comparatively low marks even after writing well in exams. This creates problems for students while applying for government examinations, giving LL. M entrance and other opportunities where eligibility criteria often require 55% or 60% marks. A slightly more student-friendly and balanced evaluation system would help students compete better academically and professionally.
