MASCOM entrance exam 2023 registration will commence tentatively in first week of June 2023. Candidates seeking admission to PG Diploma courses offered by the Manorama School of Communication must fill in the application form in online or offline mode when released. What is MASCOM Entrance Exam?

Manorama School of Communication (commonly known as MASCOM) conducts entrance exams to provide admission to candidates in journalism courses offered by it. The college offers both print and broadcast journalism courses at postgraduate level. The MASCOM is a state-level entrance exam. Candidates anywhere from India can apply for admission in the PG diploma courses which are offered through MASCOM Entrance Exam. MASCOM 2023 Entrance Exam Application Process

Candidates need to follow the below-mentioned steps to successfully secure admission in Journalism courses offered by MASCOM.

Step 1: Fill MASCOM Entrance Exam Application Form 

Candidates will have to visit the official website of Manorama School Communication and click on 'Admissions' tab. On clicking on the Admission tab, a new page will open containing the necessary instructions to apply online and offline.

For Online Mode: Candidates willing to apply online will have to click on 'Apply Online' and register themselves by giving details like name, email id, phone number and date of birth. After successful registration, candidates will be given an Application ID, through which they will have to login and fill in their application form. Candidates will also have to upload their passport size photograph and signature (Max size 3 Mb).

For Offline Mode: Those willing to apply offline will have to click on 'Download Application Form'. After downloading the application form, candidates will be required to take a printout and fill in the application form and admit card in duplicate. Candidates will have to affix recent Passport size photograph (They will need three photographs) and will have to sign in black or blue ink. Candidates will have to send the application form for each course separately. 

Step 2: Pay the application fee

For Online Mode: On completion of the online application form candidates will be led to a payment portal wherein they will be asked to pay the application fee of INR 500 (plus processing charges) for a single course and INR 1000 (plus processing charges) for both the courses. Candidates can pay the application fee through credit card, debit card or Internet banking.

For Offline Mode: Offline application will have to be accompanied by a Demand Draft for INR 590 in favour of MASCOM and payable at Kottayam. If candidates are applying for both the courses the DD amount will have to be INR 1180. Candidates will have to send the application form on the address mentioned below:

Step 3: Get the MASCOM Entrance Exam Admit Card

Candidates will receive their MASCOM entrance exam 2023 admit cards online after successfully submitting the application form to the varsity. The entrance exam will be conducted in online mode.

Step 4: Appear for MASCOM Entrance Exam

Candidates aspiring to join the course are expected to have a good academic record, a keen interest in current affairs and politics, a deep commitment to journalism as a career and sound writing skills. Admission will be based on an online written exam and an interview. The online entrance exam consisting of subjective and objective questions tests a candidates control over the language and general awareness. Tests will be conducted in English and Malayalam. 

Step 5: Check MASCOM Entrance Exam Result

Shortlisted candidates will be interviewed online. The results will be announced on conclusion of all such interviews.

MASCOM Entrance Exam 2023 Eligibility Criteria

Applicants to the courses must have a Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline from a recognised university. Students who have appeared in their final examination may also apply. However, they will have to furnish adequate proof of graduation for their admission to be regularised. The official website also informs about the some special conditions which are mentioned below:

  • A candidate who is a full-time employee or a student in another course shall not be eligible for admission.
  • MASCOM reserves the right to cancel a candidate’s admission if it is proved that.
    • The candidate submitted false documents or used any form of malpractice.
    • The candidate has a criminal record that became known only later.
    • The decision of the MASCOM Admission committee concerning the selection of a candidate will be final and binding.
    • MASCOM reserves the right to reject any application found incomplete or otherwise deficient.
    • MASCOM reserves the right to make changes to one or more of the regulations listed above.

MASCOM 2023 Admission Process

Candidates seeking admission to Manorama School of Communications have to follow the process as under:

Step 1: After qualifying the entrance exam appear for the interview round

Candidates qualifying the online written exam successfully will have to appear for the online interview round. The candidates will be asked questions related to current affairs, general knowledge and the course they have opted.

Step 2: Check the final result

Candidates clearing the interview round can secure a seat at Manorama School of Communication in the journalism courses offered by it. Candidates will be informed about the final result on conclusion of all interviews.

Step 3: Pay the admission fee

Successful candidates will have to secure their admission by depositing the prescribed fees along with the necessary documents.
