The IIMC exam centres 2026 list will be released by Indian Institute of Mass Communication. As per university's official website, it accepts CUET PG scores for many mass communication programmes at PG and Diploma levels. So, candidates who wish to get admission at IIMC must appear for CUET PG at their designated exam centres. Students can check their exact address of CUET PG exam and IIMC exam on CUET hall ticket and IIMC admit card, respectively.

To get admission at Indian Institute of Mass Communication, candidates must carefully select their preferred exam cities in IIMC entrance exam online form. Although IIMC tries to allot exam centres as per preference, there may be a chance that the first preferred city is not allotted to a candidate due to logistical or any other issue.

Q:   Do I have to give two separate exams for (IIMC) PG Diploma, i.e. CUET PG and IIMC exam?
A: 

No, IIMC considers CUET-PG scores for admissions. Once you pass the entrance test, the further rounds of the selection process like interviews and counselling are conducted by IIMC. Unless, you wish to apply for PG Diploma in Journalism in Odia, Marathi, Urdu or Malayalam. For these courses IIMC conducts their own entrance exam. You can check out their website for more.

Q:   Does the Indian Institute of Mass Communication offers admission through CUET PG?

Yes, Indian Institute of Mass Communication offers admission through CUET PG in some of postgraduate Diploma and MA programmes. Candidates seeking admission in such programmes are required to fill CUET PG application form and appear in CUET PG exam. Shortlisted candidates are called for counselling as per the marks obtained. A cut off for such courses is released and the candidates are given admission accordingly.

Q:   How many questions are there in IIMC entrance exam?

Course Eligibility Criteria
MA Courses Indian nationals must have a bachelor's degree from a recognised university or institute. They must have obtained at least 55% marks in their bachelor's final exams.
PG Diploma Graduates from any discipline can apply.

Note -

  • Students who are appearing for their finals can also apply. But, they have to give relevant documents later. Admission of such candidates will be confirmed only if they at least provide their Provisional mark sheet/ Certificate in original from their college/ university by September 30, 2026. 
  • IIMC will extend the last date to submit above certificate only in genuine cases.
  • Aspirants looking for IIMC Admissions through CUET-PG must appear for the entrance test.

The CUET-PG 'Mass Communication and Journalism' paper (paper code - COQP17) is meant for all mass comm entrance (of the participating institutes) including IIMC entrance. CUET PG 2026 for Mass Communication and Journalism paper will be conducted in March 2026. Examinees will have to take the test within 90 minutes. They were presented with 75 MCQs from topics like general awareness, awareness of current public issues, Indian History and social sciences, IT and its application, and mass media and society.

The Indian Institute of Mass Communication will refund the IIMC entrance exam application fee only if the transaction fails. If a candidate has successfully paid the registration fee, it will not be refunded. So, candidates must fill and submit IIMC registration form after carefully checking the eligibility criteria and other requirements for the target course.

Q:   What is the application fee for IIMC Entrance Exam?

The candidates have to pay the requisite examination fee. Application Fee (for up to three Test papers) for General candidates is INR 1400, for OBC-NCL/GenEWS is INR 1200, for SC/ST/Third Gender is INR 1100 and PwBD is INR 1000. The fee can be submitted only online through Net Banking, Credit Card, Debit Card, UPI Services. Processing charges and GST as applicable are chargeable to the candidate (in addition to the examination fee) by the concerned Bank/Payment Gateway Integrator.
