Meghnad Desai Academy of Economics offers merit-based admission. Applicants are required to fulfil the eligibility criteria to secure admission i.e graduation degree with 50% aggreagte from a recognised university/institute. Meghnad Desai Academy of Economics offers a PG Diploma in Economics,  Data Science and Finance. Offering these courses on the basis of merit, candidates must secure a minimum aggregate of 50% in graduation. 

Post application submission, candidates are required to appear for a one-hour-long online entrance test conducted by the Institute.

The aforementioned entrance test consists of tests in 3 sections (Maths, Logic and Basic Economics). The MDAE test fee is worth INR 2.5 K. Candidates appearing for other entrance exams such as GMAT and CAT will be exempted from taking the in-house entrance test. However, candidates must secure -600+ in GMAT or 90 percentile and above in CAT to be eligible for the exemption.
After the test, candidates will be shortlisted to appear for the personal interview. MDAE will send out offer letters to the candidates who have been selected for the final admission.
