NID Haryana Highlights 2025
Also known as NID Kurukshetra, NID Haryana was established in 2016 by the Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion (DIPP) and Government of India’s Ministry of Commerce and Industry and the Ministry of Information Technology. An autonomous institute, NID Haryana offers Graduate Diploma Programme in Design (GDPD) in three specialisations – Industrial Design, Communication Design and Textile & Apparel Design. The teaching methodology adopted for GDPD courses at NID Haryana incorporates industry and field exposure.

According to the available data, National Institute of Design, Assam and NID Kurukshetra are both autonomous public design universities in India. NID is considered one of the premier institutes in design, founded in 1961, with extension campuses in Gandhinagar and Bengaluru. The other NIDs are located in the cities of Kurukshetra, Vijayawada, Jorhat, and Bhopal. NID Kurukshetra was established on November 15, 2016, as an autonomous institute under the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India). NID Haryana Scholarships 2025
The Scholarship Grant is introduced by NID Haryana from AY 2020-21 onwards.
The key features of the Grant are as follows:
1. The Scholarship Grant will be given on the basis of meritorious performance of students.
2. The Scholarship Grant is also available to students of economically weaker section.
New Admission Topper INR 50,000 in Foundation year.
Criteria:
Scholarship Grant will be given to a new admission student of Foundation Batch with highest open rank in the NID Admission Exam provided that the open rank is 60 or above.

NID Kurukshetra accepts scores of the NID Design Aptitude Test (DAT) for admission to its B.Des program. The merit list is prepared based on various factors, including NID DAT entrance examination scores, portfolio evaluation, and interview. Candidates should have passing marks in 10+2 as per the NID Haryana course eligibility criteria. For NID Haryana admission, candidates first have to clear DAT Prelims. After that, shortlisted candidates have to clear DAT Mains. A final merit list is released considering the scores of both the entrance tests
The application fee of NID DAT 2026 for the B. Des for General, General-EWS, OBC-NCL candidates is INR 3,000. SC, ST, PwD candidates only ned to pay INR 1,500. However note that the application fees for overseas candidates seeking admission to supernumerary seats is INR 5000. In case of the M.Des programme, the application fees for General, General-EWS, OBC-NCL candidates applying for one discipline is INR 3,000. If two disciplines are chosen, the application fee is INR 6000. Meanwhile, SC, ST, PwD candidate need to pay INR 1,500 for one discipline, and INR 3000 for two disciplines.
