NIT Jalandhar offers separate hostel facilities to boys and girls. There are ten boys’ hostels and three girls’ hostels. The facilities of the reading room, indoor games, washing machines etc. are available in each hostel. Internet facility is provided in most of the hostels. Other facilities like geysers, water purifiers and water coolers are provided in all the hostels. Students must effectively use common rooms that contain newspapers, literature, and other materials for indoor games. The hostel warden will set the common room hours on a regular basis.

Dr B. R. Ambedkar National Institute of Technology has a total of 17 departments. Interested candidates need to qualify for entrance exams such as JEE Main, GATE, MAT, GMAT, IIT JAM etc. Depending upon the course chosen to be able to grab a seat at NIT Jalandhar. Students Activity Centre: It is the nerve cell of all the student activities on campus. The Centre comprises a club building. gymnasium hall, open-air theatre, and hobbies workshop, which cater to various extra-curricular activities of the students.

Technical Club: It functions under "clubs and hobbies activities* of the institute. The objective of the technical club is to bring together faculty and students on a common platform to exchange ideas and share knowledge on emerging technologies.

Book Shop: There is a bookshop situated in the shopping complex of the institute, where a Xerox facility is also available. Additionally, a separate Xerox facility is available in the Library.

The cutoff trend for BTech at NIT Jalandhar has been increased in the recent years. In 2021, the closing rank for BTech under General category for AIQ was 10169. In 2022, it increased to 11547.

Similarly, the cut off changed from 14659 to 16506 for OBC, 65643 to 40521 for SC, 86192 to 67395 for ST, 11756 to 13749 for EWS and 349 to 262 for PWD. This is likely to continue, as the demand grows for engineering education in India. Similar cut off trend can be seen for female candidates under all categories however the ranks are slightly different.
