March 19, 2024: The 'New Horizon College of Engineering (NHCE)' is a renowned educational institution dedicated to making a difference in society not only by providing quality education, but also by assisting students and the entire ecosystem in creating more job creators than job seekers as part of the 'AtamaNirbharBharat Abhiyan' initiative. NHCE has established its self-funded incubation centre, "New Horizon Council for Innovation, Incubation and Entrepreneurship (NHCIIE), CIN: U88900KA2023NPL178028, Not-for-Profit Licence (NPL) Company under Section 8(1) of the Company Act, 2013, [Formerly, New Horizon Centre for Innovation, Incubation and Entrepreneurship (NHCIIE)], as an incubator/pre-incubation facility. It has dedicated infrastructure facilities such as workspaces, an innovation lab, discussion rooms, an education cell, and an intellectual property cell. The Incubation Centre is updated with a built-up size of more than 3000 sq. ft. and a separate space for ED.
They have space for technology incubation, work stations, and a boardroom. During the academic year 2022-23, we completed 38 MSME - Udyam registrations and 06 Private Limited Incorporations with the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, which is incubated by the NHCIIE. We partnered with reputable industries to co-create I&E activities and provide varied support to the NHCIIE. NHCIIE aspires to focus on and create a thriving ecosystem for innovation, as well as to give a unique platform for NHCE students, alumni, and faculty to pursue their academic objectives and cultivate independent thinking in order to attain their life goals. It accepts students' unique ideas, nurtures them, and gives them a positive direction, as well as hands-on mentoring to help them become actual innovators and successful entrepreneurs.
For the fiscal year 2022-2023, NHCE has committed 1% of its annual budget to various entrepreneurial activities. The primary goal is to instill entrepreneurship and push students to develop businesses to solve various grass-roots concerns through projects such as:
- In-house intercollegiate events
- Organise awareness seminars by entrepreneurs or alumni
- Organising field exposure activities to foster innovation and entrepreneurship
- Supporting entrepreneurial development activities at the state and national levels
The overarching objectives of the centre are:
- To inculcate innovative mindset & entrepreneurial skills among student and alumni.
- To create start-up ecosystem.
- To catalyse start-up ecosystem by aiding related to enhancing knowledge, mentoring, legal, financial, technological, intellectual property related to cost-effective infrastructural support and value-added services.
- To foster collaboration between student and faculties to assist research and creative designs.
- To convert practice venture into real venture by focussing on market opportunity and customer needs.
- To act as a launchpad to inspire students to develop innovative ideas under the umbrella of Centre of innovation, incubation and entrepreneurship.
New Horizon Hosts Sargam 2022: The Rudra Factor
December 20, 2022: With the title "The Rudra Factor"—"the mesmerising vitality and majestic power"—New Horizon Educational Institution's much anticipated state-level cultural festival SARGAM 2022 returned after a two-year hiatus. The event, which was held on November 25 and 26, 2022, at the site of New Horizon College of Engineering, attracted close to 15,000 students from 180 schools, including PUC and degree colleges.
The Mega Event with the theme "TANDAV," which featured incredibly energising and potent dance performances from numerous institutions, was Sargam 2022's main draw. The cosmic dance of Lord Shiva, Tandav, portrayed the cycle of creation and destruction in the cosmos. The lavish costumes and props increased the dances' ferocity.
The mega event TANDAV was won by New Horizon College, Kasturinagar, which received a cash prize of Rs. 1,00,000. New Horizon College of Engineering took second place and received a prize of Rs. 50,000, and Christ College Bannerghatta and New Horizon College, Marathalli tied for third place with a cash prize of Rs. 25,000 each.
All festival goers were welcome to join free workshops that were both entertaining and educational thanks to Sargam 22! The alumnus Budhil Vyas, a Data Science engineer, Expert in Crypto, and Rabindra Sah, Chief Engineer at Tata Technologies, presented the session on cryptocurrency. The session taught by Karthik, a master of salsa, and Zuboo, a master of the shuffle.
All of the students from different universities were given the chance to demonstrate their enthusiasm for dancing through Juke Box. On November 25, 2022, DJ Vipul Khurana delighted the gathering.
The month-long planning and preparation building up to the Mega State Level Inter-Collegiate Cultural Fest "Sargam2022" came to a glorious conclusion on the evening of November 26, 2022. All the excitement, thrill, high-spirited energy, and enthusiasm had defined the planning and preparation. The King of BangaloreCollege Events, this flawlessly performed spectacular was meticulously planned. This concert was completely "by the students, for the students, and of the students," which made it exceptional and unmatched. More than 15000 people attended this event from 180 institutions across Karnataka.
