NIT Sikkim offers UG, PG, and Doctoral courses in the field of Science, Commerce, and Humanities, including BTech, MTech, MSc, and PhD. NIT Sikkim offers UG, PG and PhD course in various specialisations. BTech is the flagship course offered by the Institution. NIT Sikkim offers a four-year BTech programme in  five specialisations for the BTech programme, which include Civil Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Electrical & Electronics Engineering. NIT Sikkim admission to the flagship BTech course is completely entrance-based. Interested candidates are required to apply and appear for JEE Main.

The basic eligibility to apply to the PhD course is a PG degree in the relevant stream with a 60% aggregate or 6.5 CGPA in BTech/ Mtech from any recognised university or 85% in BTech from any NIT/ IIT/ IIIT/ Other CFTIs. For SC/ST/PwD candidates, a relaxation of 5% marks or 0.5 CGPA will be considered. Further, the selection procedure includes appearing for the Institute based entrance exam and personal interview.

NIT Sikkim accepts the GATE score, followed by the GATE CCMT Counselling process for the MTech admission. NIT Sikkim cutoff 2023 for M.Tech in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning is 423. The cutoff is for General category candidates in the All India quota at the National Institute of Technology Sikkim. For the OBC AI category, the cutoff was 377. This suggests that the cutoff for the reserved category typically goes lower than that of the unreserved category. MTech cut-off varies depending on the category and domicile/quota of the applicant. The total fee for the MTech programme at NIT Sikkim is INR 1.4 lakh. The total fee is calculated based on annual/ semester fee available for the academic year, hence is indicative. ST/SC & PH students are fully exempted from paying tuition fees, while the most economically backward students (whose family income is less than INR 1 lakh per annum) are granted full remission of the tuition fee. Other economically backward students, whose family income falls between INR 1 lakh to INR 5 lakh per annum, are granted a remission of 2/3rd of the tuition fee.

GATE exams for M.Tech programme is out for admission to NIT Sikkim. GATE registration had started and is available till Oct 13, with late fees. Candidates can dowload the GATE admit card from Jan 3, 2024 to Feb 2, 2024. The Gate exam is to be scheduled from Feb 3 to Feb 11, 2024. Candidates are required To register themselves by visiting the official GATE website.

GATE 2024 registration for M.Tech admission to NIT Sikkim has started .Candidates can also fill GATE application form 2024 online at gate2024.iisc.ac.in. To apply for the BTech programme at NIT Sikkim, candidates must use JEE Main as the application platform.
