NIT Sikkim provides a wide range of academic programmes at the undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral levels, These programs include Bachelor of Technology (BTech), Master of Technology (MTech), Master of Science (MSc), and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD), with various specialisations available in each programme. All the programmes except PhD are entirely based on Entry-level exams. As for the PhD programme candidates have to appear for the Institution entrance exam and a personal interview.

Capgemini, Bosch, Siemens, TCS, Aarti Industries Limited, among others, were the top recruiters at NIT Sikkim in 2022. The total tuition fee for the M.Tech programme is INR 1.4 Lacs and the average salary received after the completion of the course is INR 7.3 lakh, considering the total tuition fee and the salary secured this seems to be a good return on investment.

Computer Science Engineering is the most popular specialisation under M.Tech programme in NIT Sikkim after BTech programme .
