Whether it is worth paying for the B.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering at NIT Sikkim depends on various factors including your personal interests, career goals, and financial situation.
The programme has a well-structured curriculum covering essential areas like algorithms, data structures, software engineering, and artificial intelligence. The faculty includes experienced and young members with research backgrounds and industry experience.
Infrastructure has been improving over the years, with decent computer labs and necessary software and tools. Placement statistics for CSE graduates are decent, with various tech companies recruiting from the campus.
However, some students feel that the faculty members are not as good as expected, and self-learning is often required. The placement percentage of 103% seems exaggerated and may not reflect the actual situation.
Considering these points, if you have a keen interest in computer programming and are willing to put in extra effort for self-learning, NIT Sikkim's CSE programme might be a good option. Nevertheless, it's essential to weigh the pros and cons, considering your individual circumstances and priorities.
